³ And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

¹² And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. ¹³ And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac: the land on which you lie, to you will I give it, and to your descendants;

¹⁵ And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you in all places wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land; for I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken to you of.

²⁰ And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on, ²¹ So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: ²² And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that you shall give me I will surely give the tenth unto you.

³ And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of your fathers, and to your kindred; and I will be with you.

⁴² Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the Fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely you would have sent me away now empty. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night.

⁷ Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that were with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands;

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.

¹³ I will go into your house with burnt offerings: I will pay you my vows, ¹⁴ Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth has spoken, when I was in trouble.

¹⁵ He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

⁶ Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

⁸ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

¹ I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my supplications. ² Because he has inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

¹⁶ O LORD, truly I am your servant; I am your servant, and the son of your handmaid: you have loosed my bonds. ¹⁷ I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

¹⁹ Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: ²⁰ This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. ²¹ I will praise you: for you have heard me, and have become my salvation. ²² The stone which the builders rejected has become the head stone of the corner.

⁶ In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

¹⁹ For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: you shall weep no more: he will be very gracious unto you at the sound of your cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer you.

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame scorch you.
