¹⁵ And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counselors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,

⁶ Then the heads of the fathers’ houses and the leaders of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the officers over the king’s work, offered willingly,

⁶ But who is able to build him a house, seeing the heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him a house, except only to burn sacrifices before him?

² But I have built a house of habitation for you, and a place for your dwelling forever.

⁶ But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

⁴ With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king’s house:

⁸ Moreover I make a decree of what you shall do for the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, without delay expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered. ⁹ And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the requirement of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail: ¹⁰ That they may offer sacrifices of sweet aroma unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.

¹² And the God that has caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put their hand to alter it and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done diligently.

¹¹ Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

⁸ LORD, I have loved the habitation of your house, and the place where your honor dwells.

²⁹ Because of your temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto you. ³⁰ Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submits himself with pieces of silver: scatter you the people that delight in war.

¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the coasts shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

² In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

¹¹ Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

²¹ Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise you the LORD.

⁶ The multitude of camels shall cover your land, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show forth the praises of the LORD. ⁷ All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto you: they shall come up with acceptance on my altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory. ⁸ Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows? ⁹ Surely the coastlands shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.

²⁴ And the nations of them who are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. ²⁵ And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. ²⁶ And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
