¹⁷ Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

²⁹ Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren who dwelt in Judea: ³⁰ Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

¹⁶ For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hastened, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

³¹ Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn everyone night and day with tears.

²⁶ Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to announce the accomplishment of the days of purification, until an offering should be offered for every one of them.

²⁵ But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints. ²⁶ For it has pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints who are at Jerusalem. ²⁷ It has pleased them greatly; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in material things. ²⁸ When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you to Spain.

³¹ That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;

¹ Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do you. ² Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God has prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. ³ And when I come, whomsoever you shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. ⁴ And if it be fitting that I go also, they shall go with me.

¹ Moreover, brethren, we want you to know of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; ² How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. ³ For to their ability, I bear record, yea, and beyond their ability they were willing of themselves; ⁴ Begging us with much entreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich.

¹ For concerning the ministering to the saints, it is unnecessary for me to write to you: ² For I know the eagerness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal has provoked very many.

¹² For the administration of this service not only supplies the need of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;

¹⁰ Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was eager to do.
