¹⁰ And indeed you do it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that you increase more and more;

¹ Moreover, brethren, we want you to know of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; ² How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

⁸ I speak not by commandment, but to prove by the earnestness of others, the sincerity of your love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich. ¹⁰ And in this I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to desire a year ago.

¹⁵ Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

¹³ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as would be perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

⁴ Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which you have to all the saints,

⁷ So that you were examples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

¹² And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

¹ Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received of us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you would abound more and more.

³ We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all toward each other abounds;

⁵ Hearing of your love and faith, which you have toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; ⁶ That the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. ⁷ For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because the hearts of the saints are refreshed by you, brother.

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
