⁴⁸ Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.

³⁵ And they departed from Abronah, and encamped at Eziongeber. ³⁶ And they set out from Eziongeber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

²⁶ And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.

And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.

⁷ But there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with you; for the LORD is not with Israel, not with all the children of Ephraim.

⁹ Kings' daughters were among your honorable women: at your right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

⁷ You break the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

¹⁶ And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all beautiful vessels.

⁹ Surely the coastlands shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.

³ But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid its fare, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.
