¹² Bring thy heart to instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.

² To attend to wisdom thou wilt incline thine ear, thy heart to understanding; ³ For if thou will call to understanding, wilt give thy voice to understanding ⁴ If thou wilt seek her as silver, and dig for her as hidden treasure; ⁵ Then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah, and thou shalt find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For Jehovah will give wisdom: from his mouth knowledge and understanding.

¹ My son, attend to my wisdom; incline thine ear to understanding: ² To watch meditation, and thy lips shall guard knowledge.

¹⁷ Incline thine ear and hear the words of the wise, and thou shalt set thy heart to my knowledge.

¹⁹ Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thy heart right in the way.

³¹ And they will come to thee, according to the coming of the people, and they will sit before thee my people, and they heard thy words, and they did them not: for they making loves with their mouth, their heart went after their plunder.

⁵² And he said to them, Therefore every scribe, having been a disciple in the kingdom of the heavens, is like to a man, master of a house, who casts out from his treasure new things and old.

²¹ Wherefore having put away all sordid avarice, and excess of wickedness, in meekness receive the implanted word, able to save your souls. ²² And be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ²³ For if any is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man observing the face of his creation in a mirror: ²⁴ For he observed himself, and went away, and straightway forgot of what kind he was. ²⁵ And he having stooped into the perfect law of liberty, and remained, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of work, he shall be happy in his doing.
