²⁸ And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.

²⁰ And as for you, ye meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

⁶ and showing mercy unto the thousandth generation of them that love Me and keep My commandments.

⁵ And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

² And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, that He might afflict thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep His commandments, or no. ³ And He afflicted thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that He might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every thing that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

¹⁶ who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that He might afflict thee, and that He might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

⁵ and said: 'I beseech Thee, O LORD, the God of heaven, the great and awful God, that keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments;

⁵ 'Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so will I regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good. ⁶ And I will set Mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. ⁷ And I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God; for they shall return unto Me with their whole heart.

²⁹ And the land quaketh and is in pain; for the purposes of the LORD are performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation, without inhabitant.

⁹ And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried; they shall call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say: 'It is My people', and they shall say: 'The LORD is my God.'

³⁰ and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength; this is the first commandment.

⁴⁸ And as the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God; and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

⁶ among whom are ye also called to be Jesus Christ's: ⁷ to all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints; Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³ And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations; knowing that tribulation worketh stedfastness, ⁴ and stedfastness, approvedness, and approvedness, hope: ⁵ and hope putteth not to shame, because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given unto us.

³⁰ and whom he foreordained, them he also called; and whom he called, them he also justified; and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long, We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter. ³⁷ Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹¹ for the children being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth,

²³ and that he might make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy, which he afore prepared unto glory, ²⁴ even us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the Gentiles?

⁹ God is faithful, through whom ye were called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁹ but as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And which entered not into the heart of man, Whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him.

¹⁵ For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound unto the glory of God. ¹⁶ Wherefore we faint not, but though our outward man is decaying, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. ¹⁷ For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory,

¹ For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

¹⁵ But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, even from my mother's womb, and called me through his grace,

⁸ This persuasion came not of him that calleth you.

⁹ making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him ¹⁰ unto a dispensation of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth, ¹¹ in him, I say, in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will,

¹¹ according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

¹⁹ For I know that this shall turn out to my salvation, through your supplication and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, ²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be put to shame, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death. ²¹ For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. ²² But if to live in the flesh,—if this shall bring fruit from my work, then what I shall choose I know not. ²³ But I am in a strait betwixt the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for it is very far better:

⁹ For God appointed us not into wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁵ which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, to the end that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: ⁶ if so be that it is a righteous thing with God to recompense affliction to them that afflict you, ⁷ and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ whereunto he called you through our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,

¹⁹ Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his; and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.

⁶ For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. ⁷ It is for chastening that ye endure, God dealeth with you as with sons, for what son is there whom his father chasteneth not? ⁸ But if ye are without chastening, whereof all have been made partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. ⁹ Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we gave them reverence; shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? ¹⁰ For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed good to them, but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness. ¹¹ All chastening seemeth for the present to be not joyous but grievous, yet afterward it yieldeth peaceable fruit unto them that have been exercised thereby, even the fruit of righteousness. ¹² Wherefore lift up the hands that hang down, and the palsied knees,

³ Knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience. ⁴ And let patience have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.

¹² Blessed is the man that endureth temptation, for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love him.

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, did not God choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?

⁷ that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and honor and unto glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ: ⁸ whom not having known ye love, on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

¹⁰ And may the God of all grace, who called us unto his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a little while, himself perfect you, established, strengthened, grounded.

¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

¹⁹ We love him, because he first loved us.

² Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not grievous.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I reprove and chasten; be zealous therefore, and repent.
