²¹ My son, let not them depart from thine eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion;

⁹ Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes saw, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life; but make them known unto thy children and thy children's children;

⁶ And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart; ⁷ and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. ⁸ And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes. ⁹ And thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates.

⁴⁶ he said unto them: 'Set your heart unto all the words wherewith I testify against you this day; that ye may charge your children therewith to observe to do all the words of this law. ⁴⁷ For it is no vain thing for you; because it is your life, and through this thing ye shall prolong your days upon the land, whither ye go over the Jordan to possess it.'

⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy ways prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

⁷ He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright, He is a shield to them that walk in integrity;

¹ My son, forget not my teaching; but let thy heart keep my commandments; ² For length of days, and years of life, and peace, will they add to thee. ³ Let not kindness and truth forsake thee; bind them about thy neck, write them upon the table of thy heart;

³¹ Jesus therefore said to those Jews that had believed him, If ye abide in my word, then are ye truly my disciples,

⁶ If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered, and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away from them. ² For if the word spoken through angels proved stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward, ³ how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which having at the first been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed unto us by them that heard,

²⁴ Let that therefore abide in you which ye heard from the beginning. If that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.

²⁷ And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any one teach you, but as the same anointing teacheth you, concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, ye shall abide in him.
