⁴ If thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;

²¹ Who long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;

¹² But wisdom, where shall it be found? And where is the place of understanding? ¹³ Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. ¹⁴ The deep saith: 'It is not in me'; and the sea saith: 'It is not with me.' ¹⁵ It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof. ¹⁶ It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. ¹⁷ Gold and glass cannot equal it; neither shall the exchange thereof be vessels of fine gold. ¹⁸ No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal; yea, the price of wisdom is above rubies. ¹⁹ The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold. ²⁰ Whence then cometh wisdom? And where is the place of understanding?

¹⁰ (19:11) More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

¹⁴ I have rejoiced in the way of Thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

⁷² The law of Thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.

¹²⁷ Therefore I love Thy commandments above gold, yea, above fine gold.

¹⁴ For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies; and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

¹⁸ Riches and honour are with me; yea, enduring riches and righteousness. ¹⁹ My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my produce than choice silver.

¹⁶ How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.

²³ Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

⁸ There is one that is alone, and he hath not a second; yea, he hath neither son nor brother; yet is there no end of all his labour, neither is his eye satisfied with riches: 'for whom then do I labour, and bereave my soul of pleasure?' This also is vanity, yea, it is a grievous business.

¹⁹ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; ²⁰ but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal; ²¹ for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found, and hid, and in his joy he goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

²¹ Jesus said unto him, If thou wouldest be perfect, go, sell that which thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me. ²² But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he was one that had great possessions.

²⁹ And every one that hath left houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit eternal life.

⁸ And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely; for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light.
