²⁷ and whosoever would be first among you, let him be your servant;

⁴ Whosoever therefore will humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

³³ And they came to Capernaum; and when he was in the house he asked them, What were ye reasoning among yourselves on the way? ³⁴ But they held their peace; for they had disputed one with another on the way, who was the greatest. ³⁵ And he sat down, and called the twelve, and he saith unto them, If any man would be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.

²⁶ But ye shall not be so; but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger, and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

³⁴ Ye yourselves know that these hands ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. ³⁵ In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring ye ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

¹⁴ I am debtor both to Greeks and to Barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish.

¹⁹ For though I was free from all men, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more. ²⁰ And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews, to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law, ²¹ to them that are without law, as without law, not being without law to God, but under law to Christ, that I might gain them that are without law. ²² To the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak; I am become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. ²³ And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be a joint partaker thereof.

⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as one beside himself) I more, in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths oft. ²⁴ Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. ²⁵ Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day have I been in the deep, ²⁶ in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from my countrymen, in perils from the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren, ²⁷ in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

¹⁵ And I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less?
