² I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter dark sayings concerning days of old;

⁹ Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.

⁷ but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, even the wisdom that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory:

⁵ which in other generations was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit,

⁹ and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things through Jesus Christ,

²⁵ whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you-ward, to fulfil the word of God, ²⁶ even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations; but now hath it been manifested to his saints,

⁹ who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal, ¹⁰ but hath now been manifested by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

² in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before times eternal, ³ but in his own seasons manifested his word in the message, wherewith I was intrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour,

¹ God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by diverse portions and in diverse manners, hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son,

¹¹ searching what time or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did point unto, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them. ¹² To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven, which things angel desire to look into.

²⁰ who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of times for your sake, ²¹ who through him believe in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.

⁸ And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, every one whose name hath not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that hath been slain.

⁸ The beast that thou sawest was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go into perdition. And they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names hath not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast, how that he was, and is not, and shall come.
