²¹ And when his friends heard it, they went out to lay hold on him; for they said, He is beside himself.

¹¹ Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord; and one said unto him: 'Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee?' And he said unto them: 'Ye know the man and what his talk was.'

²⁶ 'The LORD hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that there should be officers in the house of the LORD for every man that is mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in the stocks and in the collar.

⁷ The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come, Israel shall know it. The prophet is a fool, the man of the spirit is mad! For the multitude of thine iniquity, the enmity is great.

³¹ And there come his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, they sent unto him, calling him.

³ His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may behold thy works which thou doest. ⁴ For no man doeth anything in secret, and himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world. ⁵ For even his brethren did not believe on him. ⁶ Jesus therefore saith unto them, My time is not yet come, but your time is always ready. ⁷ The world cannot hate you, but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil. ⁸ Go ye up unto the feast; I go not up yet unto this feast, because my time is not yet fulfilled. ⁹ And having said these things unto them, he abode still in Galilee. ¹⁰ But when his brethren were gone up unto the feast, then went he also up, not publicly, but as it were in secret.

²⁰ And many of them said, He hath a demon, and is mad, why hear ye him?

²⁴ And as he thus made his defense, Festus saith with a loud voice, Paul, thou art mad, thy much learning is turning thee mad.

¹³ For whether we are beside ourselves, it is unto God, or whether we are of sober mind, it is unto you.
