⁴⁷ And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, the son of David, have mercy on me.

⁶ (9:5) For a child is born unto us, a son is given unto us; and the government is upon his shoulder; and his name is called Pele- joez-el-gibbor-Abi-ad-sar-shalom; ⁷ (9:6) That the government may be increased, and of peace there be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it through justice and through righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts doth perform this.

¹ And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a twig shall grow forth out of his roots.

⁵ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous shoot, and he shall reign as king and prosper, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The LORD is our righteousness.

²² And behold, a Canaanitish woman came out from those borders, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David, my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon.

³⁰ And behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, Lord, have mercy on us, thou son of David.

⁹ And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.

¹¹ And the multitudes said, This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth of Galilee.

⁴² saying, What think ye of the Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. ⁴³ He saith unto them, How then doth David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying, ⁴⁴ The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet? ⁴⁵ If David then calleth him Lord, how is he his son?

⁷¹ And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and saith unto them there, This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.

²⁴ saying, Ah! what have we to do with thee, Jesus thou Nazarene? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

¹⁶ And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up; and he entered, as his custom was, into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read.

³⁶ and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant. ³⁷ And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

⁴¹ Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee?

⁵² They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee hath arisen no prophet.

¹⁹ And Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. And there was written, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

¹⁴ for we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered unto us.

²² And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom also he bare witness and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who shall do all My will. ²³ Of this man's seed hath God according to promise brought unto Israel salvation,

³ concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, ⁴ who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, even Jesus Christ our Lord,

¹⁶ I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star.
