⁴⁵ Then opened he their mind, that they might understand the scriptures,

¹¹ And the LORD said unto him: 'Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh a man dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? is it not I the LORD?

¹⁶ Then He openeth the ears of men, and by their chastisement sealeth the decree,

¹⁸ Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law.

¹⁰ For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes; the prophets, and your heads, the seers, hath He covered. ¹¹ And the vision of all this is become unto you as the words of a writing that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying: 'Read this, I pray thee'; and he saith: 'I cannot, for it is sealed'; ¹² and the writing is delivered to him that is not learned, saying: 'Read this, I pray thee'; and he saith: 'I am not learned.'

¹⁸ And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. ¹⁹ The humble also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the neediest among men shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.

³² And they said one to another, Was not our heart burning within us, while he spake to us in the way, while he opened to us the scriptures?

¹⁴ And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple of the city of Thyatira, one that worshipped God, heard us; whose heart the Lord opened to give heed unto the things which were spoken by Paul.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, so as to turn them back from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.

⁴ in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them. ⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. ⁶ Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

⁷ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and none shutteth, save he that openeth, and none openeth.
