²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one, that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he bestowed favor on us in the Beloved: ⁷ in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, ⁸ which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, ⁹ making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him ¹⁰ unto a dispensation of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth, ¹¹ in him, I say, in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will, ¹² to the end that we should be unto the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ: ¹³ in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,—in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, ¹⁴ who is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God's own possession, unto the praise of his glory.

¹² for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ: ¹³ till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: ¹⁴ that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error, ¹⁵ but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, even Christ, ¹⁶ from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in due measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love.

¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded; and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, this also shall God reveal unto you:

²⁸ whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ,

² that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, even of the Father and of Christ,

⁹ for in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, ¹⁰ and in him ye are made full, who is the head of all principality and power:

¹⁴ and above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.

¹⁰ And may the God of all grace, who called us unto his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a little while, himself perfect you, established, strengthened, grounded.

³ that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us; yea, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ:

¹ Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God. For this cause the world knoweth ye not, because it knew him not.

¹² No man hath beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us: ¹³ hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ And we have beheld and bear witness that the Father hath sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. ¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we know and have believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God abideth in him.

¹⁹ We love him, because he first loved us.
