¹⁴ If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

²⁶ But it shall not be so among you; but whosoever would become great among you shall be your minister, ²⁷ and whosoever would be first among you, let him be your servant; ²⁸ even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

⁴³ But it is not so among you; but whosoever would become great among you, shall be your minister, ⁴⁴ and whosoever of you would be first, shall be servant of all. ⁴⁵ For the Son of man also came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

²⁶ But ye shall not be so; but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger, and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. ²⁷ For which is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.

³⁵ In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring ye ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

¹⁰ In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another, in honor preferring one another,

¹⁶ Be of the same mind one toward another. Set not your mind on high things, but condescend to things that are lowly. Be not wise in your own conceits.

¹ Now we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. ² Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, unto edifying. ³ For Christ also pleased not himself, but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon me.

¹³ Wherefore, if meat causeth my brother to stumble, I will eat no flesh for evermore, that I cause not my brother to stumble.

¹⁹ For though I was free from all men, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more. ²⁰ And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews, to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law, ²¹ to them that are without law, as without law, not being without law to God, but under law to Christ, that I might gain them that are without law. ²² To the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak; I am become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might become rich.

¹ Now I Paul myself entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you:

¹³ For ye, brethren, were called for freedom, only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.

¹ Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted. ² Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

² make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind, ³ doing nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself, ⁴ not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. ⁵ Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: ⁶ who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped, ⁷ but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, ⁸ and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

⁸ though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered, ⁹ and having been made perfect, he became unto all them that obey him the author of eternal salvation,

² looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹ Forasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm ye yourselves also with the same mind, for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin,

⁵ Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another. Gird yourselves with humility, for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
