⁶ And God said: 'Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.'

¹⁴ And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;

²⁰ And God said: 'Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let fowl fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.'

¹¹ In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. ¹² And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

⁷ He stretcheth out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth over nothing. ⁸ He bindeth up the waters in His thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.

¹³ By His breath the heavens are serene; His hand hath pierced the slant serpent.

¹¹ Yea, He ladeth the thick cloud with moister, He spreadeth abroad the cloud of His lightning;

¹⁸ Canst thou with Him spread out the sky, which is strong as a molten mirror?

²² Hast thou entered the treasuries of the snow, or hast thou seen the treasuries of the hail, ²³ Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? ²⁴ By what way is the light parted, or the east wind scattered upon the earth? ²⁵ Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood, or a way for the lightning of the thunder; ²⁶ To cause it to rain on a land where no man is, on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;

¹ (19:1) For the Leader. A Psalm of David. (19:2) The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork;

⁶ By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

⁹ For He spoke, and it was; He commanded, and it stood.

² Who coverest Thyself with light as with a garment, who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain;

⁵ To Him that by understanding made the heavens, for His mercy endureth for ever. ⁶ To Him that spread forth the earth above the waters, for His mercy endureth for ever.

⁴ Praise Him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that are above the heavens.

¹ Hallelujah. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power.

³ If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree fall in the south, or in the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there shall it be.

¹⁰ But the LORD God is the true God, He is the living God, and the everlasting King; at His wrath the earth trembleth, and the nations are not able to abide His indignation.

¹² He that hath made the earth by His power, that hath established the world by His wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by His understanding; ¹³ At the sound of His giving a multitude of waters in the heavens, when He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; when He maketh lightnings with the rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of His treasuries;

¹⁵ He that hath made the earth by His power, that hath established the world by His wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by His discernment;

¹ The burden of the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The saying of the LORD, who stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him:
