¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, Cursed is every one who continueth not in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.

²⁶ Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse: ²⁷ the blessing, if ye shall hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day; ²⁸ and the curse, if ye shall not hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

²⁶ Cursed be he that confirmeth not the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say: Amen.'

²⁰ (29:19) the LORD will not be willing to pardon him, but then the anger of the LORD and His jealousy shall be kindled against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven;

²⁸ Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and I have given Jacob to condemnation, and Israel to reviling.

³ and say thou unto them: Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: Cursed be the man that heareth not the words of this covenant,

⁴ Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine; the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

⁴¹ Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;

⁹ And he spake also this parable unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and set all others at nought: ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. ¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I get. ¹³ But the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God, be thou merciful to me a sinner.

¹⁹ Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it speaketh to them that are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God: ²⁰ because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight, for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.

¹⁵ for the law worketh wrath, but where there is no law, neither is there transgression.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁹ And I was alive apart from the law once; but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died, ¹⁰ and the commandment, which was unto life, this I found to be unto death: ¹¹ for sin, finding occasion, through the commandment beguiled me, and through it slew me. ¹² So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good. ¹³ Did then that which is good become death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good,—that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.

⁷ because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be:

¹⁶ yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law; because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

⁹ but if ye have respect of persons, ye commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. ¹⁰ For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is become guilty of all. ¹¹ For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet thou killest, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
