¹⁰ and He spread it before me, and it was written within and without; and there was written therein lamentations, and moaning, and woe.

¹¹ Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him; for the work of his hands shall be done to him.

⁸ Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever. ⁹ For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children that refuse to hear the teaching of the LORD; ¹⁰ That say to the seers: 'See not,' and to the prophets: 'Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy delusions; ¹¹ Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.'

²⁹ And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah thou shalt say: Thus saith the LORD: Thou hast burned this roll, saying: Why hast thou written therein, saying: The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast? ³⁰ Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost. ³¹ And I will visit upon him and his seed and his servants their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they hearkened not.' ³² Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and there were added besides unto them many like words.

² And the LORD answered me, and said: 'Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that a man may read it swiftly.

¹³ And I saw, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid heaven, saying with a great voice, Woe, woe, woe, for them that dwell on the earth, by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, who are yet to sound.

¹² The first Woe is past; behold, there come yet two Woes hereafter.

¹⁴ The second Woe is past; behold, the third Woe cometh quickly.
