⁶ if so be that it is a righteous thing with God to recompense affliction to them that afflict you,

²² But if thou shalt indeed hearken unto his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

⁴¹ If I whet My glittering sword, and My hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to Mine adversaries, and will recompense them that hate Me. ⁴² I will make Mine arrows drunk with blood, and My sword shall devour flesh; with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the long-haired heads of the enemy.' ⁴³ Sing aloud, O ye nations, of His people; for He doth avenge the blood of His servants, and doth render vengeance to His adversaries, and doth make expiation for the land of His people.

²² Arise, O God, plead Thine own cause; remember Thy reproach all the day at the hand of the base man. ²³ Forget not the voice of Thine adversaries, the tumult of those that rise up against Thee which ascendeth continually.

¹⁰ Wherefore should the nations say: 'Where is their God?' Let the avenging of Thy servants' blood that is shed be made known among the nations in our sight. ¹¹ Let the groaning of the prisoner come before Thee; according to the greatness of Thy power set free those that are appointed to death; ¹² And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached Thee, O Lord.

²⁰ Shall the seat of wickedness have fellowship with Thee, which frameth mischief by statute? ²¹ They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood. ²² But the LORD hath been my high tower, and my God the rock of my refuge. ²³ And He hath brought upon them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil; the LORD our God will cut them off.

²⁶ And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine; and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

⁸ (2:12) For thus saith the LORD of hosts who sent me after glory unto the nations which spoiled you: 'Surely, he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

²⁵ For he that doeth wrong shall receive again for the wrong that he hath done; and there is no respect of persons.

¹⁰ and they cried with a great voice, saying, How long, O Master, the holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

¹⁸ And the nations were wroth, and thy wrath came, and the time of the dead to be judged, and the time to give their reward to thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to them that fear thy name, to the small and the great, and to destroy them that destroy the earth.

⁴ Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy, for all the nations shall come and worship before thee, for thy righteous acts have been made manifest.

⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters saying, Righteous art thou, who art and who wast, the Holy One, because thou didst thus judge: ⁶ for they poured out the blood of the saints and the prophets, and blood thou didst give unto them to drink; they are worthy.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye saints, and ye apostles, and ye prophets, for God hath judged your judgment on her.

²⁴ And in her was found the bloods of prophets and of saints, and of all that have been slain upon the earth.

² for true and righteous are his judgments, for he hath judged the great harlot, her that destroyed the earth with her fornication, and he hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
