²³ And who is like Thy people, like Israel, a nation one in the earth, whom God went to redeem unto Himself for a people, and to make Him a name, and to do for Thy land great things and tremendous, even for you, in driving out from before Thy people, whom Thou didst redeem to Thee out of Egypt, the nations and their gods?

⁷ And the LORD said: 'I have surely seen the affliction of My people that are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their pains; ⁸ and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

¹⁶ But in very deed for this cause have I made thee to stand, to show thee My power, and that My name may be declared throughout all the earth.

¹² For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the LORD.

⁵ Now therefore, if ye will hearken unto My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be Mine own treasure from among all peoples; for all the earth is Mine; ⁶ and ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.'

¹³ And Moses said unto the LORD: 'When the Egyptians shall hear - for Thou broughtest up this people in Thy might from among them - ¹⁴ they will say to the inhabitants of this land, who have heard that Thou LORD art in the midst of this people; inasmuch as Thou LORD art seen face to face, and Thy cloud standeth over them, and Thou goest before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night;

⁷ For what great nation is there, that hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is whensoever we call upon Him? ⁸ And what great nation is there, that hath statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

³² For ask now of the days past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and from the one end of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it? ³³ Did ever a people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live? ³⁴ Or hath God assayed to go and take Him a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before thine eyes? ³⁵ Unto thee it was shown, that thou mightiest know that the LORD, He is God; there is none else beside Him. ³⁶ Out of heaven He made thee to hear His voice, that He might instruct thee; and upon earth He made thee to see His great fire; and thou didst hear His words out of the midst of the fire. ³⁷ And because He loved thy fathers, and chose their seed after them, and brought thee out with His presence, with His great power, out of Egypt, ³⁸ to drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day;

²⁶ And I prayed unto the LORD, and said: 'O Lord GOD, destroy not Thy people and Thine inheritance, that Thou hast redeemed through Thy greatness, that Thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

²¹ He is thy glory, and He is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and tremendous things, which thine eyes have seen.

¹⁵ And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee; therefore I command thee this thing to-day.

²⁹ Happy art thou, O Israel, who is like unto thee? a people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and that is the sword of thy excellency! And thine enemies shall dwindle away before thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

⁹ For when the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land hear of it, they will compass us round, and cut off our name from the earth; and what wilt Thou do for Thy great name?'

²¹ And who is like Thy people Israel, a nation one in the earth, whom God went to redeem unto Himself for a people, to make Thee a name by great and tremendous things, in driving out nations from before Thy people, whom Thou didst redeem out of Egypt.

¹⁰ Now these are Thy servants and Thy people, whom Thou hast redeemed by Thy great power, and by Thy strong hand.

⁵ (40:6) Many things hast Thou done, O LORD my God, even Thy wonderful works, and Thy thoughts toward us; there is none to be compared unto Thee! If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be told.

⁵ (65:6) With wondrous works dost Thou answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation; Thou the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of the far distant seas;

³ Say unto God: 'How tremendous is Thy work! Through the greatness of Thy power shall Thine enemies dwindle away before Thee.

⁹ He hath sent redemption unto His people; He hath commanded His covenant for ever; Holy and awful is His name.

⁶ And men shall speak of the might of Thy tremendous acts; and I will tell of Thy greatness.

²⁰ He hath not dealt so with any nation; and as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Hallelujah.

⁷ I will make mention of the mercies of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us; and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which He hath bestowed on them according to His compassions, and according to the multitude of His mercies. ⁸ For He said: 'Surely, they are My people, children that will not deal falsely'; so He was their Saviour. ⁹ In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old. ¹⁰ But they rebelled, and grieved His holy spirit; therefore He was turned to be their enemy, Himself fought against them. ¹¹ Then His people remembered the days of old, the days of Moses: 'Where is He that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He that put His holy spirit in the midst of them? ¹² That caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? That divided the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting name? ¹³ That led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, without stumbling? ¹⁴ As the cattle that go down into the valley, the spirit of the LORD caused them to rest; so didst Thou lead Thy people, to make Thyself a glorious name.'

⁹ But I wrought for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among whom they were, in whose sight I made Myself known unto them, so as to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt.

¹ What advantage then hath the Jew? or what is the profit of circumcision? ² Much every way; first of all, that they were intrusted with the oracles of God.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he bestowed favor on us in the Beloved:

¹⁴ who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.

⁹ But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof; for thou was slain, and didst purchase us unto God with thy blood, men of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,
