⁶ Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

³ And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light.

¹⁴ And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; ¹⁵ and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.' And it was so.

¹⁸ And he said: 'Show me, I pray Thee, Thy glory.' ¹⁹ And He said: 'I will make all My goodness pass before thee, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.' ²⁰ And He said: 'Thou canst not see My face, for man shall not see Me and live.' ²¹ And the LORD said: 'Behold, there is a place by Me, and thou shalt stand upon the rock. ²² And it shall come to pass, while My glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with My hand until I have passed by. ²³ And I will take away My hand, and thou shalt see My back; but My face shall not be seen.'

⁵ And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. ⁶ And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed: 'The LORD, the LORD, God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth; ⁷ keeping mercy unto the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and unto the fourth generation.'

¹⁶ Thine is the day, Thine also the night; Thou hast established luminary and sun.

¹⁶ Let Thy work appear unto Thy servants, and Thy glory upon their children.

⁷ To Him that made great lights, for His mercy endureth for ever; ⁸ The sun to rule by day, for His mercy endureth for ever; ⁹ The moon and stars to rule by night, for His mercy endureth for ever.

⁷ I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil; I am the LORD, that doeth all these things.

² For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but upon thee the LORD will arise, and His glory shall be seen upon thee.

²² And turning to the disciples, he said, All things have been delivered unto me of my Father; and no one knoweth who the Son is, save the Father, and who the Father is, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal him.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

⁴⁰ Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou believedst, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

⁴¹ These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and he spake of him.

⁹ Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father, how sayest thou, Show us the Father? ¹⁰ Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say unto you I speak not from myself; but the Father abiding in me doeth the works.

⁵⁵ But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, ⁵⁶ and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God.

¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.

⁴ in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,

⁸ For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord; walk as children of light

⁶ who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,

¹⁵ who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation,

³ who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high,

¹² To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven, which things angel desire to look into.

⁹ But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

¹⁹ And we have the word of prophecy made more sure, whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts:
