⁸ Taste and see that the LORD is good! How blessed is the person who trusts in him!

¹² Kiss the son before he becomes angry, and you die where you stand. Indeed, his wrath can flare up quickly. How blessed are those who take refuge in him.

⁷ How precious is your gracious love, God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

¹⁰ Send forth your gracious love to those who know you, and your righteousness to those who are upright in heart.

A Rebuke to the Deceitful Why do you make evil the foundation of your boasting, mighty one? God’s gracious love never ceases.

⁵ Just as I am satisfied with the choicest of foods, so my lips will praise you joyfully.

¹² LORD of Heavenly Armies, how happy are those who trust in you.

¹⁰³ How pleasing is what you have to say to me— tasting better than honey.

³ The Loved OneLike an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. In his shade I take delight and sit down, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.

¹ The Lover I’ve come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I’ve gathered my myrrh with my spices. I’ve eaten my honeycomb with my honey. I’ve drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, friends! Drink and become drunk with love.

¹⁴ I’ll give the priests abundant provisions, and my people will be satisfied with my goodness,” declares the LORD.

¹⁷ For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! Grain will make the young men thrive, and new wine the virgins.

⁴ For it is impossible to keep on restoring to repentance time and again people who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have become partners with the Holy Spirit, ⁵ who have tasted the goodness of God’s word and the powers of the coming age,

² Like newborn babies, thirst for the pure milk of the word so that by it you may grow in your salvation. ³ Surely you have tasted that the Lord is good!

¹ Jesus, the Word of LifeWhat existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we observed and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life! ² This life was revealed to us, and we have seen it and testify about it. We declare to you this eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us. ³ What we have seen and heard we declare to you so that you, too, can have fellowship with us. Now this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus, the Messiah.

⁷ God’s Love Lives in UsDear friends, let us continuously love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born from God and knows God. ⁸ The person who does not love does not know God, because God is love. ⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent his unique Son into the world so that we might live through him. ¹⁰ This is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
