¹⁰ Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I come through.

¹⁰ So they hanged Haman on the pole he had set up for Mordecai, and then the king’s anger subsided.

¹⁵ He digs a pit, even excavates it; then he fell into the hole that he had made. ¹⁶ The trouble he planned will return on his own head, and his violence will descend on his skull.

⁸ Let destruction come upon them unawares, and let the net that he hid catch him; let him fall into destruction.

¹⁴ The wicked take out a sword and bend the bow, to bring down the humble and the poor to slay those who are righteous in conduct. ¹⁵ But their sword will pierce their own heart, and their bows will be broken!

⁷ But God shot an arrow at them, and they were wounded immediately. ⁸ They tripped over their own tongues, and everyone who was watching ran away.

⁹ May those who surround me discover that the trouble they talk about falls on their own head!

⁸ The righteous person is delivered from trouble; it comes upon the wicked instead.
