²⁴ I take joy in your decrees, for they are my counselors.

¹⁸ When he occupies his royal throne, he must make a copy of this Law for himself from a scroll used by the Levitical priests. ¹⁹ It is to remain with him the rest of his life so he may learn to fear the LORD his God and observe all the words of this Law and these statutes, in order to fulfill them. ²⁰ He is not to exalt himself over his relatives, nor turn aside from the commandment—neither to the right nor to the left—so that he and his sons may reign long in Israel.”

⁸ This set of instructions is not to cease being a part of your conversations. Meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to carry out everything that’s written in it, for then you’ll prosper and succeed.

¹⁰ Will he take delight in the Almighty? Will he call on God at all times?”

¹¹ Moreover your servant is warned by them; and there is great reward in keeping them.

¹⁶ I am delighted with your statutes; I will not forget your word.

²⁰ Parental Counsel about ImmoralityKeep your father’s commands, my son, and never forsake your mother’s rules, ²¹ by binding them to your heart continuously, fastening them around your neck. ²² During your travels wisdom will lead you; she will watch over you while you rest; and when you are startled from your sleep, she will commune with you. ²³ Because the command is a lamp and the Law a light, rebukes that discipline are a way of life—

²⁰ for instruction and for testimony? Surely they are speaking like this because the truth hasn’t dawned on them.

¹⁰ To whom will I speak and give a warning so they’ll listen? Look, their ears are closed, and they cannot hear. Look, this message from the LORD is contemptible to them; they don’t delight in it.

¹⁶ Let the word of the Messiah inhabit you richly with wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, and singing to God with thankfulness in your hearts.

¹⁵ From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures that are able to give you the wisdom you need for salvation through faith in the Messiah Jesus. ¹⁶ All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, ¹⁷ so that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good action.
