⁴ While they were puzzling over this, two men in dazzling robes suddenly stood beside them.

² he glanced up and saw three men standing there, not far from him. As soon as he noticed them, Abraham ran from the tent entrance to greet them and bowed low to the ground.

² Suddenly, there was a powerful earthquake, because an angel of the Lord had come down from heaven, approached the stone, rolled it away, and was sitting on top of it. ³ His appearance was bright as lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. ⁴ Trembling from fear, even the guards themselves became catatonic.
⁵ Responding to the women, the angel said, “Stop being frightened! I know you’re looking for Jesus, who was crucified. ⁶ He is not here. He has been raised, just as he said. Come and see the place where he was lying.

⁵ As they went into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were utterly astonished.

Meanwhile, Mary stood crying outside the tomb. As she cried, she bent over and looked into the tomb. ¹² She saw two angels in white clothes who were sitting down, one at the head and the other at the foot of the place where Jesus’ body had been lying.
