And many of the saynctes dyd I shut vp in preson, and had receaued auctorite of the hye Prestes. And when they were put to deeth. I gaue the sentence. 11 And I punisshed them ofte in euery synagoge, and compelled them to blaspheme: and was yet more mad vpon them, and persecuted them, euen vnto straunge cyties.

1 Thessalonians 2:15-16

15 Whych as they kylled the Lorde Iesus, and theyr awne Prophetes, euen so haue they persecuted vs: and God they please not, and are contrary to al men, 16 & hynder vs, that we shuld not speake vnto the Gentyls, that they myght be saued, to fulfyll their synnes alwaye.
