² And there was a great earthquake. For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and went and rolled the stone back and sat upon it. ³ His appearance was like lightning and his clothing was as white as snow. ⁴ The men on guard trembled with fear of him, and became like dead men.

² But they found the stone rolled back from the tomb,

¹ On the day after the Sabbath, very early in the morning while it was still dark, Mary of Magdala went to the tomb, and she saw that the stone had been removed from it.
