⁴⁹ My lord delayeth; and may begin to smite his fellow-servants, and eat and drink with the drunken;

¹⁵ But beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are rapacious wolves.

¹⁸ For such do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own stomach; and through fair speeches and eulogies deceive the hearts of the innocent.

²⁰ for you bear with them, if any one enslaves you, if any one devours you, if any one captures you, if any one is exalted against you, if any one smites you in the face.

¹⁹ whose end is destruction, whose God is their stomach, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.

¹¹ whose mouths it is necessary to stop; who overturn whole families, teaching those things which it does not behoove, for the sake of disgraceful gain. ¹² A certain one of them, their own prophet, said, The Cretans are all liars, evil beasts, slow stomachs.

³ Not as domineering over the heritages, but having become examples of the flock:

¹³ receiving the reward of unrighteousness, esteeming pleasure which is in the daytime; luxury; spots and blemishes, swelling in their deceits, feasting along with you, ¹⁴ having eyes full of an adulteress, and unable to cease from sin; beguiling unestablished souls: having a heart which has been made fat with covetousness; children of the curse:

⁹ I wrote something to the church, but Diotrephes, loving the preeminence over them, does not receive us. ¹⁰ On account of this, if I may come, I will remember his works which he is doing, berating us with wicked speeches: and not content with these, he does not receive the brethren, and he prohibits them wishing to receive them, and casts them out of the church.

¹² These are rocks in your love-feasts, feasting along with you without fear shepherdizing themselves, clouds without water, driven away by the winds; withered trees, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

⁷ And it was given to him to make war with the saints and to conquer them: and authority was given unto him over every tribe, and people, and tongue, and nation.

⁶ because they shed the blood of saints and of prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; they are worthy.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunken from the blood of the saints, and from the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and seeing her, I was astonished with great astonishment.
