²² And if those days were not shortened, no life would be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

¹⁴ For many are called, but few elected.

²⁴ for false Christs and false prophets will rise up, and give great signs and wonders; so as to deceive even the elect, if possible.

³¹ And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet, and they will gather His elect out of the four winds, from the extremities of the heavens, unto the extremities of the same.

²⁰ And unless the Lord shortened those days, no flesh would be saved: but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

⁷ And shall not God avenge His elect, crying to Him day and night, and He is long-suffering over them?

²⁵ I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, as to this mystery, in order that you may not he wise with yourselves, that blindness in part has happened unto Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles may come in; ²⁶ and so all Israel shall be saved: as has been written, A leader shall come out of Zion, shall turn ungodliness from Jacob. ²⁷ And this is the covenant with me unto them, that I may take away their sins. ²⁸ They are enemies indeed, as touching the gospel, for your sakes: but beloved with reference to election for the sake of the fathers: ²⁹ for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. ³⁰ For as you at one time were disobedient to God, but now you have received mercy through their disobedience, ³¹ even also these were now disobedient, in order that through the mercy shown to you they themselves may now also obtain mercy.

¹⁰ On account of this I endure all things for the sake of the elect, in order that they may also have the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
