⁴⁹ Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died;

³¹ Our fathers ate manna in the wilderness; as has been written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

⁵⁸ He is the bread having come down from heaven: not as the fathers ate, and died: the one eating this bread shall live forever.

³ and they all did eat the same spiritual food; ⁴ and all did drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. ⁵ But with many of them God is not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
