⁶ He spoke this parable to them: but they did not know what things He was speaking to them.

¹³ Therefore I speak to them in parables; because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. ¹⁴ And the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled unto them, saying, By hearing ye shall hear, and may not understand; and seeing you shall see, and may not perceive.

⁵¹ Do you understand all these things? They say to Him, Yea.

⁵² Then the Jews were contending with one another, saying, How is this One able to give unto us His flesh to eat?

⁶⁰ Then many of His disciples, hearing, said, This is a hard sermon; who is able to hear it?

³⁶ What is this word which He said, You shall seek me, and not find me: and where I am, you are not able to come?

²⁷ They did not know that He spoke to them concerning the Father.

⁴³ Wherefore do you not understand my speech? Because you are not able to hear my word.

²⁵ I have spoken these things unto you in parables; the hour comes, when I shall no longer speak to you in parables, but openly will I proclaim to you concerning the Father.

¹⁴ But the intellectual man receives not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him; and he is not able to know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

²⁰ But we know that the Son of God has come and has given unto us intelligence, that we know the truth. And we are in the true one, in his Son Jesus Christ; he is the true God, and eternal life.
