¹³ And he proclaimed to us how he saw an angel standing in his house, and saying, Send to Joppa, and call for Simon, who is called Peter; ¹⁴ who will speak words to you, by which you and your whole family may be saved.

¹⁴ Then how can they call on him on whom they have not believed? and how can they believe on him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? ¹⁵ And how can they preach, unless they may be sent forth? as has been written, How beautiful are the feet of those, who preach the gospel of good things! ¹⁶ But they have not all heard the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our report? ¹⁷ Then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

⁸ Therefore he says, Having ascended upon high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to the people. ⁹ But what is that which ascended, except that which descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ But the one having descended and the one having ascended above all the heavens, that he might fill all things, is the same. ¹¹ And he gave some, apostles; some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; ¹² unto the perfection of the saints, in the work of the ministry, in the edification of the body of Christ:
