¹ A song of degrees. ⁴ For thou hast bene a strength vnto the poore, euen a strength to the needie in his trouble, a refuge against the tempest, a shadow against the heate: for the blaste of the mightie is like a storme against the wall.

³ I the Lord doe keepe it: I will water it euery moment: least any assaile it, I will keepe it night and day.

For what is your life? It is euen a vapour that appeareth for a litle time, and afterward vanisheth away) ¹⁵ For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, and, if we liue, we will doe this or that. ¹⁶ But now ye reioyce in your boastings: all such reioycing is euill.

⁵ Which are kept by the power of God through faith vnto saluation, which is prepared to be shewed in the last time.
