¹ Paul and Timotheus the seruants of IESVS CHRIST, to all the Saintes in Christ Iesus which are at Philippi, with the Bishops, and Deacons: ² Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ. ³ I thanke my God, hauing you in perfect memorie, ⁴ (Alwayes in all my praiers for all you, praying with gladnesse) ⁵ Because of the fellowship which ye haue in the Gospel, from the first day vnto nowe. ⁶ And I am persuaded of this same thing, that he that hath begunne this good worke in you, wil perfourme it vntill the day of Iesus Christ, ⁷ As it becommeth me so to iudge of you all, because I haue you in remembrance that both in my bands, and in my defence, and confirmation of the Gospell you all were partakers of my grace. ⁸ For God is my recorde, howe I long after you all from the very heart roote in Iesus Christ. ⁹ And this I pray, that your loue may abound, yet more and more in knowledge, and in all iudgement, ¹⁰ That ye may alowe those things which are best, that ye may be pure, and without offence vntill the day of Christ, ¹¹ Filled with the fruites of righteousnesse, which are by Iesus Christ vnto the glorie and praise of God. ¹² I would ye vnderstood, brethren, that the things which haue come vnto me, are turned rather to the furthering of the Gospell, ¹³ So that my bandes in Christ are famous throughout all the iudgement hall, and in all other places, ¹⁴ In so much that many of the brethren in the Lord are boldened through my bandes, and dare more frankely speake the word. ¹⁵ Some preache. Christ euen through enuie and strife, and some also of good will. ¹⁶ The one part preacheth Christ of contention and not purely, supposing to adde more affliction to my bandes. ¹⁷ But the others of loue, knowing that I am set for the defence of the Gospell. ¹⁸ What then? yet Christ is preached all maner wayes, whether it be vnder a pretence, or syncerely: and I therein ioye: yea and will ioye. ¹⁹ For I knowe that this shall turne to my saluation through your prayer, and by the helpe of the Spirit of Iesus Christ, ²⁰ As I feruently looke for, and hope, that in nothing I shalbe ashamed, but that with all confidence, as alwayes, so nowe Christ shalbe magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death. ²¹ For Christ is to me both in life, and in death aduantage. ²² And whether to liue in the flesh were profitable for me, and what to chuse I knowe not. ²³ For I am distressed betweene both, desiring to be loosed and to be with Christ, which is best of all. ²⁴ Neuerthelesse, to abide in the flesh, is more needefull for you. ²⁵ And this am I sure of, that I shall abide, and with you all continue, for your furtherance and ioy of your faith, ²⁶ That ye may more aboundantly reioyce in IESVS CHRIST for me, by my comming to you againe. ²⁷ Onely let your conuersation be, as it becommeth the Gospel of Christ, that whether I come and see you, or els be absent, I may heare of your matters that ye continue in one Spirit, and in one mind, fighting together through the faith of the Gospel. ²⁸ And in nothing feare your aduersaries, which is to them a token of perdition, and to you of saluation, and that of God. ²⁹ For vnto you it is giuen for Christ, that not onely ye should beleeue in him, but also suffer for his sake, ³⁰ Hauing the same fight, which ye sawe in me, and nowe heare to be in me.

⁵ Said not he vnto me, She is my sister? yea, and she her selfe said, He is my brother: with an vpright minde, and innocent handes haue I done this.

²⁶ And Abimelech saide, I knowe not who hath done this thing: also thou toldest me not, neither heard I of it but this day.

⁸ But he refused and said to his masters wife, Beholde, my master knoweth not what he hath in the house with me, but hath committed all that he hath to mine hande.

¹⁸ O Lord, I haue waited for thy saluation.

¹¹ Now I know that the Lord is greater then all the gods: for as they haue dealt proudly with them, so are they recompensed.

¹ Bvt when the people sawe, that Moses taryed long or he came downe from the mountaine, the people gathered themselues together against Aaron, and sayde vnto him, Vp, make vs gods to goe before vs: for of this Moses (the man that brought vs out of the land of Egypt) we knowe not what is become of him.

¹⁴ Nowe therefore feare the Lord, and serue him in vprightnesse and in trueth, and put away the gods, which your fathers serued beyonde the flood and in Egypt, and serue the Lord.

¹⁴ And Dauid said vnto Gad, I am in a wonderfull strait: let vs fall nowe into the hand of the Lord, (for his mercies are great) and let mee not fall into the hand of man.

¹ So in the twelft moneth, which is the moneth Adar, vpon the thirteenth daye of the same, when the Kings commandement and his decree drew neere to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Iewes hoped to haue power ouer them (but it turned contrary: for the Iewes had rule ouer them that hated them)

¹⁴ He that is in miserie, ought to be comforted of his neighbour: but men haue forsaken the feare of the Almightie.

¹¹ Doeth not the eares discerne the words? and the mouth taste meate for it selfe?

⁴ I could also speake as yee doe: (but woulde God your soule were in my soules stead) I could keepe you company in speaking, and could shake mine head at you,

⁹ But the righteous wil holde his way, and he whose hands are pure, shall increase his strength.

²⁶ And though after my skin wormes destroy this bodie, yet shall I see God in my flesh. ²⁷ Whome I my selfe shall see, and mine eyes shall beholde, and none other for me, though my reynes are consumed within me.

³ For the eare tryeth the words, as the mouth tasteth meate.

³ For he shall be like a tree planted by the riuers of waters, that will bring foorth her fruite in due season: whose leafe shall not fade: so whatsoeuer he shall doe, shall prosper.

¹⁰ For thou wilt not leaue my soule in the graue: neither wilt thou suffer thine holy one to see corruption. ¹¹ Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is the fulnesse of ioy: and at thy right hand there are pleasures for euermore.

¹⁵ But I will beholde thy face in righteousnes, and when I awake, I shalbe satisfied with thine image.

² My God, I trust in thee: let me not be confounded: let not mine enemies reioyce ouer mee.

¹⁵ But God shall deliuer my soule from the power of the graue: for he will receiue me. Selah.

²³ He that offereth praise, shall glorifie mee: and to him, that disposeth his way aright, will I shew the saluation of God.

⁶ God hath spoken in his holines: therefore I will reioyce: I shall deuide Shechem, and measure the valley of Succoth.

⁵ Yet my soule keepe thou silence vnto God: for mine hope is in him.

¹⁹ Praysed be the Lord, euen the God of our saluation, which ladeth vs dayly with benefites. Selah. ²⁰ This is our God, euen the God that saueth vs: and to the Lord God belong the issues of death.

²⁶ For they persecute him, whome thou hast smitten: and they adde vnto the sorrowe of them, whome thou hast wounded.

¹⁸ Yea, euen vnto mine olde age and graie head, O God: forsake me not, vntill I haue declared thine arme vnto this generation, and thy power to all them, that shall come.

²⁴ Thou wilt guide me by thy counsell, and afterward receiue me to glory. ²⁵ Whom haue I in heauen but thee? and I haue desired none in the earth with thee. ²⁶ My flesh fayleth and mine heart also: but God is the strength of mine heart, and my portion for euer.

¹⁰ Surely the rage of man shall turne to thy praise: the remnant of the rage shalt thou restrayne.

¹² The righteous shall flourish like a palme tree, and shall grow like a Cedar in Lebanon. ¹³ Such as bee planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courtes of our God. ¹⁴ They shall still bring foorth fruite in their age: they shall be fat and flourishing, ¹⁵ To declare that the Lord my rocke is righteous, and that none iniquitie is in him.

⁸⁰ Let mine heart bee vpright in thy statutes, that I be not ashamed.

¹¹⁶ Stablish me according to thy promise, that I may liue, and disappoint me not of mine hope.

³ Ierusalem is builded as a citie, that is compact together in it selfe:

¹ A song of degrees or Psalme of David. Behold, howe good and howe comely a thing it is, brethren to dwell euen together.

⁸ The Lord will performe his worke toward me: O Lord, thy mercie endureth for euer: forsake not the workes of thine handes.

¹⁸ But the way of the righteous shineth as the light, that shineth more and more vnto the perfite day.

²⁸ The patient abiding of the righteous shall be gladnesse: but the hope of the wicked shall perish.

²³ For the Lord will defende their cause, and spoyle the soule of those that spoyle them.

¹⁸ For surely there is an ende, and thy hope shall not be cut off.

¹ I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I gathered my myrrhe with my spice: I ate mine hony combe with mine hony, I dranke my wine with my milke: eate, O friends, drinke, and make you merie, O welbeloued. ² And hee hedged it, and gathered out the stones of it, and he planted it with the best plants, and hee builte a towre in the middes thereof, and made a wine presse therein: then hee looked that it should bring foorth grapes: but it brought foorth wilde grapes.

¹⁵ Butter and hony shall he eate, till he haue knowledge to refuse the euill, and to chuse the good. ¹⁶ For afore the childe shall haue knowledge to eschew the euill, and to chuse the good, the land, that thou abhorrest, shalbe forsaken of both her Kings.

² Beholde, God is my saluation: I will trust, and will not feare: for ye Lord God is my strength and song: he also is become my saluation.

¹¹ Wherefore, my bowels shall sounde like an harpe for Moab, and mine inwarde partes for Ker-haresh.

¹⁸ For the graue cannot confesse thee: death cannot praise thee: they that goe downe into the pit, cannot hope for thy trueth. ¹⁹ But the liuing, the liuing, he shall confesse thee, as I doe this day: the father to the children shall declare thy trueth.

¹⁷ But Israel shall be saued in the Lord, with an euerlasting saluation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded worlde without ende.

⁷ For the Lord God will helpe me, therefore shall I not bee confounded: therefore haue I set my face like a flint, and I knowe that I shall not be ashamed.

⁷ Hearken vnto me, ye that know righteousnesse, the people in whose heart is my Lawe. Feare ye not the reproche of men, neither be ye afraide of their rebukes.

¹² I, euen I am he, that comfort you. Who art thou, that thou shouldest feare a mortall man, and the sonne of man, which shalbe made as grasse?

⁴ Feare not: for thou shalt not be ashamed, neither shalt thou be confounded: for thou shalt not bee put to shame: yea, thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproch of thy widdowhoode any more.

¹ The righteous perisheth, and no man considereth it in heart: and mercifull men are taken away, and no man vnderstandeth that the righteous is taken away from the euill to come. ² Peace shall come: they shall rest in their beds, euery one that walketh before him.

²¹ Thy people also shalbe all righteous: they shall possesse the land for euer, the grasse of my planting shalbe the worke of mine handes, that I may be glorified.

³ To appoint vnto them that mourne in Zion, and to giue vnto them beautie for ashes, the oyle of ioye for mourning, the garment of gladnesse for the spirit of heauinesse, that they might be called trees of righteousnesse, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

¹¹ For as the earth bringeth foorth her bud, and as the garden causeth to growe that which is sowen in it: so the Lord God will cause righteousnesse to grow and praise before all the heathen.

¹⁵ Looke downe from heauen, and beholde from the dwelling place of thine holines, and of thy glory. Where is thy zeale and thy strength, the multitude of thy mercies, and of thy compassions? they are restrained from me.

²⁰ Is Ephraim my deare sonne or pleasant childe? yet since I spake vnto him, I still remembred him: therefore my bowels are troubled for him: I wil surely haue compassion vpon him, saith the Lord.

³⁹ And I wil giue them one heart and one way that they may feare me for euer for ye wealth of them, and of their children after them.

¹⁴ Seeke good and not euil, that ye may liue: and the Lord God of hostes shalbe with you, as you haue spoken. ¹⁵ Hate the euil, and loue the good, and establish iudgement in the gate: it may bee that the Lord God of hostes will be mercifull vnto the remnant of Ioseph.

² But they hate the good, and loue the euill: they plucke off their skinnes from them, and their flesh from their bones.

¹⁰ Blessed are they which suffer persecution for righteousnes sake: for theirs is the kingdome of heauen. ¹¹ Blessed shall ye be when men reuile you, and persecute you, and say all maner of euill against you for my sake, falsely. ¹² Reioyce and be glad, for great is your reward in heauen: for so persecuted they the Prophets which were before you.

¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good workes, and glorifie your Father which is in heauen.

²⁸ And feare yee not them which kill the bodie, but are nor able to kill the soule: but rather feare him, which is able to destroy both soule and bodie in hell.

²⁵ But Iesus knew their thoughtes, and said to them, Euery kingdome deuided against it selfe, is brought to nought: and euery citie or house, deuided against it selfe, shall not stand.

³¹ Another parable he put foorth vnto them, saying, The kingdome of heauen is like vnto a graine of mustard seede, which a man taketh and soweth in his fielde: ³² Which in deede is the least of all seedes: but when it is growen, it is the greatest among herbes, and it is a tree, so that the birdes of heauen come and builde in the branches thereof. ³³ Another parable spake hee to them, The kingdome of heauen is like vnto leauen, which a woman taketh and hideth in three pecks of meale, till all be leauened.

¹⁷ And Iesus answered, and saide to him, Blessed art thou, Simon, the sonne of Ionas: for flesh and blood hath not reueiled it vnto thee, but my Father which is in heauen.

²³ Then he turned backe, and said vnto Peter, Get thee behinde me, Satan: thou art an offence vnto me, because thou vnderstandest not the thinges that are of God, but the thinges that are of men.

⁶ But whosoeuer shall offend one of these litle ones which beleeue in me, it were better for him, that a milstone were hanged about his necke, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. ⁷ Wo be vnto the world because of offences: for it must needes be that offences shall come, but wo be to that man by whome the offence commeth.

⁵ All their workes they doe for to be seene of men: for they make their phylacteries broad, and make long the frindges of their garments,

¹³ Wo therefore be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites, because ye shut vp the kingdome of heauen before men: for ye your selues go not in, neither suffer ye them that would enter, to come in.

³³ But Peter aunswered, and sayde vnto him, Though that al men should be offended by thee, yet will I neuer be offended.

³⁸ Then Iohn answered him, saying, Master, we sawe one casting out deuils by thy Name, which followeth not vs, and we forbade him, because he followeth vs not. ³⁹ But Iesus sayd, Forbid him not: for there is no man that can doe a miracle by my Name, that can lightly speake euill of me. ⁴⁰ For whosoeuer is not against vs, is on our part.

⁴⁰ Which deuoure widowes houses, euen vnder a colour of long prayers. These shall receiue the greater damnation.

³⁴ For the Sonne of man is as a man going into a strange countrey, and leaueth his house, and giueth authoritie to his seruaunts, and to euery man his woorke, and commandeth the porter to watch.

⁷⁴ Which was, that he would graunt vnto vs, that we being deliuered out of the handes of our enemies, should serue him without feare,

⁷⁸ Through ye tender mercy of our God, wherby the day spring from an hie hath visited vs,

³⁸ Then the man, out of whome the deuils were departed, besought him that hee might be with him: but Iesus sent him away, saying,

⁴⁵ But they vnderstood not that word: for it was hid from them, so that they could not perceiue it: and they feared to aske him of that worde.

⁵⁰ Then Iesus saide vnto him, Forbid ye him not: for he that is not against vs, is with vs.

⁴ And I say vnto you, my friendes, be not afraide of them that kill the bodie, and after that are not able to doe any more. ⁵ But I wil forewarne you, who ye shall feare: feare him which after hee hath killed, hath power to cast into hell: yea, I say vnto you, him feare. ⁶ Are not fiue sparowes bought for two farthings, and yet not one of them is forgotten before God? ⁷ Yea, and all the heares of your head are nombred: feare not therefore: yee are more of value then many sparowes.

⁵⁰ Notwithstanding I must be baptized with a baptisme, and how am I grieued, till it be ended?

⁶ He spake also this parable, A certaine man had a figge tree planted in his vineyard: and he came and sought fruite thereon, and found none. ⁷ Then said he to the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, this three yeeres haue I come and sought fruite of this figge tree, and finde none: cut it downe: why keepeth it also the ground barren? ⁸ And he answered, and said vnto him, Lord, let it alone this yeere also, till I digge round about it, and doung it. ⁹ And if it beare fruite, well: if not, then after thou shalt cut it downe.

⁷ I say vnto you, that likewise ioy shall be in heauen for one sinner that conuerteth, more then for ninetie and nine iust men, which neede none amendment of life.

¹² But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, deliuering you vp to the assemblies, and into prisons, and bring you before Kings and rulers for my Names sake. ¹³ And this shall turne to you, for a testimoniall. ¹⁴ Lay it vp therefore in your heartes, that ye cast not before hand, what ye shall answere.

¹² But as many as receiued him, to them he gaue prerogatiue to be the sonnes of God, euen to them that beleeue in his Name. ¹³ Which are borne not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of ye wil of man, but of God.

⁴⁷ Iesus sawe Nathanael comming to him, and saide of him, Beholde in deede an Israelite, in whom is no guile.

Father, saue me from this houre: but therefore came I vnto this houre. ²⁸ Father, glorifie thy Name. Then came there a voyce from heauen, saying, I haue both glorified it, and will glorifie it againe.

¹ Nowe before the feast of the Passeouer, when Iesus knewe that his houre was come, that he should depart out of this world vnto the Father, forasmuch as he loued his owne which were in the world, vnto the end he loued them.

³ And if I go to prepare a place for you, I wil come againe, and receiue you vnto my selfe, that where I am, there may ye be also.

² Euery branch that beareth not fruite in me, he taketh away: and euery one that beareth fruite, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruite.

⁴ Abide in me, and I in you: as the branche cannot beare fruite of it selfe, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me. ⁵ I am that vine: ye are the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruite: for without me can ye doe nothing.

⁸ Herein is my Father glorified, that ye beare much fruite, and be made my disciples.

¹⁶ Ye haue not chosen me, but I haue chosen you, and ordeined you, that ye goe and bring foorth fruite, and that your fruite remaine, that whatsoeuer ye shall aske of the Father in my Name, he may giue it you.

⁷ Yet I tell you the trueth, It is expedient for you that I goe away: for if I goe not away, that Comforter will not come vnto you: but if I depart, I will send him vnto you.

²² And ye nowe therefore are in sorowe: but I will see you againe, and your hearts shall reioyce, and your ioy shall no man take from you.

²⁴ Hitherto haue ye asked nothing in my Name: aske, and ye shall receiue, that your ioye may be full.

³³ These thinges haue I spoken vnto you, that in me ye might haue peace: in the world ye shall haue affliction, but be of good comfort: I haue ouercome the world.

²⁰ I praie not for these alone, but for them also which shall beleeue in mee, through their woorde, ²¹ That they all may bee one, as thou, O Father, art in me, and I in thee: euen that they may be also one in vs, that the worlde may beleeue that thou hast sent me.

²⁴ Father, I will that they which thou hast giuen me, be with me euen where I am, that they may beholde that my glorie, which thou hast giuen mee: for thou louedst me before the foundation of the world.

¹⁵ So when they had dined, Iesus said to Simon Peter, Simon the sonne of Iona, louest thou me more then these? He said vnto him, Yea Lord, thou knowest that I loue thee. He said vnto him, Feede my lambes. ¹⁶ He said to him againe the second time, Simon the sonne of Iona, louest thou me? He said vnto him, Yea Lord, thou knowest that I loue thee. He said vnto him, Feede my sheepe. ¹⁷ He said vnto him the third time, Simon the sonne of Iona, louest thou me? Peter was sorie because he said to him the third time, Louest thou me? and said vnto him, Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I loue thee. Iesus saide vnto him, Feede my sheepe.

¹⁹ And this spake he signifying by what death he shoulde glorifie God. And when he had said this, he said to him, Folowe me.

²⁰ For it is written in the booke of Psalmes, Let his habitation be void, and let no man dwel therein: also, Let another take his charge.

⁴² And they continued in the Apostles doctrine, and fellowship, and breaking of bread, and prayers.

¹⁹ But Peter and Iohn answered vnto them, and said, Whether it be right in the sight of God, to obey you rather then God, iudge ye. ²⁰ For we cannot but speake the things which we haue seene and heard. ²¹ So they threatened them, and let them goe, and found nothing how to punish them, because of the people: for all men praised God for that which was done. ²² For the man was aboue fourtie yeeres olde, on whome this miracle of healing was shewed. ²³ Then assoone as they were let goe, they came to their fellowes, and shewed all that the hie Priestes and Elders had said vnto them. ²⁴ And when they heard it, they lift vp their voyces to God with one accord, and said, O Lord, thou art the God which hast made the heaue, and the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, ²⁵ Which by the mouth of thy seruant Dauid hast saide, Why did the Gentiles rage, and the people imagine vaine things? ²⁶ The Kings of the earth assembled, and the rulers came together against the Lord, and against his Christ. ²⁷ For doutlesse, against thine holy Sonne Iesus, whome thou haddest anoynted, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel gathered themselues together, ²⁸ To doe whatsoeuer thine hand, and thy counsell had determined before to be done. ²⁹ And nowe, O Lord, beholde their threatnings, and graunt vnto thy seruants with all boldnesse to speake thy word, ³⁰ So that thou stretch forth thine hand, that healing, and signes, and wonders may be done by the Name of thine holy Sonne Iesus. ³¹ And when as they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together, and they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God boldely. ³² And the multitude of them that beleeued, were of one heart, and of one soule: neither any of them said, that any thing of that which he possessed, was his owne, but they had all thinges common.

² Looking vnto Iesus the authour and finisher of our faith, who for the ioy that was set before him, endured the crosse, and despised the shame, and is set at the right hand of the throne of God.
