¹⁵ And they came to Iesus, and sawe him that had bene possessed with the deuil, and had the legion, sit both clothed, and in his right minde: and they were afraide.

²⁰ Wherefore the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God? and to whom shall he go from vs? ²¹ And they sent messengers to the inhabitans of Kiriath-iearim, saying, The Philistims haue brought againe the Arke of the Lord: come ye downe and take it vp to you.

⁴ So Samuel did that the Lord bade him, and came to Beth-lehem, and the Elders of the towne were astonied at his comming, and sayd, Commest thou peaceablie?

⁵ There they shall be taken with feare, because God is in the generation of the iust.

²⁴ Shall the pray be taken from the mightie? or the iust captiuitie deliuered? ²⁵ But thus sayeth the Lord, euen the captiuitie of the mightie shall be taken away: and the pray of the tyrant shall be deliuered: for I wil contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will saue thy children,

²⁴ And his fame spread abroad through all Syria: and they brought vnto him all sicke people, that were taken with diuers diseases and torments, and them that were possessed with deuils, and those which were lunatike, and those that had the palsey: and he healed them.

³³ And when the deuill was cast out, the domme spake: then the multitude marueiled, saying, The like was neuer seene in Israel.

⁴ Because that when hee was often bounde with fetters and chaines, he plucked the chaines asunder, and brake the fetters in pieces, neither could any man tame him.

⁹ And he asked him, What is thy name? and hee answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

²⁷ And as he went out to land, there met him a certaine man out of the citie, which had deuils long time, and he ware no garment, neither abode in house, but in the graues.

³⁵ Then they came out to see what was done, and came to Iesus, and found the man, out of whom the deuils were departed, sitting at the feete of Iesus, clothed, and in his right minde: and they were afrayd. ³⁶ They also which saw it, tolde them by what meanes he that was possessed with the deuill, was healed.

³⁹ And she had a sister called Marie, which also sate at Iesus feete, and heard his preaching.

¹³ Who hath deliuered vs from the power of darkenesse, and hath translated vs into the kingdome of his deare Sonne,

⁷ For God hath not giuen to vs the Spirite of feare, but of power, and of loue, and of a sound minde.
