³⁷ I will tell him the nomber of my goings, and goe vnto him as to a prince.

²⁸ Then said he, Thy name shalbe called Iaakob no more, but Israel: because thou hast had power with God, thou shalt also preuaile with men.

³ His substance also was seuen thousande sheepe, and three thousand camels, and fiue hundreth yoke of oxen, and fiue hundreth shee asses, and his family was very great, so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the East.

³ If I would dispute with him, hee could not answere him one thing of a thousand.

¹⁵ Loe, though he slay me, yet will I trust in him, and I will reprooue my wayes in his sight.

¹⁶ But nowe thou nombrest my steppes, and doest not delay my sinnes.

²⁵ I appoynted out their way, and did sit as chiefe, and dwelt as a King in the army, and like him that comforteth the mourners.

³ Who is hee that hideth counsell without knowledge? therefore haue I spoken that I vnderstood not, euen things too wonderfull for me, and which I knew not. ⁴ Heare, I beseech thee, and I will speake: I will demaunde of thee, and declare thou vnto me. ⁵ I haue heard of thee by the hearing of the eare, but now mine eye seeth thee. ⁶ Therefore I abhorre my selfe, and repent in dust and ashes.

¹⁵ For we haue not an hie Priest, which can not be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all things tempted in like sort, yet without sinne. ¹⁶ Let vs therefore goe boldly vnto ye throne of grace, that we may receiue mercy, and finde grace to helpe in time of neede.

¹⁹ For thereby we know that we are of the trueth, and shall before him assure our hearts. ²⁰ For if our heart condemne vs, God is greater then our heart, and knoweth all things. ²¹ Beloued, if our heart condemne vs not, then haue we boldnes toward God.
