²³ Though men giue him assurance to be in safetie, yet his eyes are vpon their wayes.

¹¹ For hee knoweth vaine men, and seeth iniquitie, and him that vnderstandeth nothing.

⁶ The tabernacles of robbers doe prosper, and they are in safetie, that prouoke God, whome God hath enriched with his hand.

¹³ Wherefore doeth the wicked contemne God? he saith in his heart, Thou wilt not regard. ¹⁴ Yet thou hast seene it: for thou beholdest mischiefe and wrong, that thou mayest take it into thine handes: the poore committeth himselfe vnto thee: for thou art the helper of the fatherlesse.

⁴ The Lord is in his holy palace: the Lordes throne is in the heauen: his eyes wil consider: his eye lids will try the children of men. ⁵ The Lord will try the righteous: but the wicked and him that loueth iniquitie, doeth his soule hate.

³ For I feared at the foolish, when I sawe the prosperitie of the wicked. ⁴ For there are no bandes in their death, but they are lustie and strong. ⁵ They are not in trouble as other men, neither are they plagued with other men. ⁶ Therefore pride is as a chayne vnto them, and crueltie couereth them as a garment. ⁷ Their eyes stande out for fatnesse: they haue more then heart can wish. ⁸ They are licentious, and speake wickedly of their oppression: they talke presumptuously. ⁹ They set their mouth against heauen, and their tongue walketh through the earth. ¹⁰ Therefore his people turne hither: for waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. ¹¹ And they say, Howe doeth God know it? or is there knowledge in the most High? ¹² Lo, these are the wicked, yet prosper they alway, and increase in riches.

²¹ For the waies of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his pathes.

³ The eyes of the Lord in euery place beholde the euill and the good.

²¹ If hee that hateth thee be hungry, giue him bread to eate, and if he be thirstie, giue him water to drinke. ²² For thou shalt lay coles vpon his head, and the Lord shall recompense thee. ²³ As the Northwinde driueth away the raine, so doeth an angry countenance the slandering tongue.

⁸ And the abundance of the earth is ouer all: the King also consisteth by the fielde that is tilled.

¹¹ Because sentence against an euill worke is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the children of men is fully set in them to doe euill.

⁸ For he sayeth, Are not my princes altogether Kings? ⁹ Is not Calno as Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria as Damascus? ¹⁰ Like as mine hand hath founde the kingdomes of the idoles, seeing their idoles were aboue Ierusalem, and aboue Samaria: ¹¹ Shall not I, as I haue done to Samaria, and to the idoles thereof, so doe to Ierusalem and to the idoles thereof?

¹² Come, I wil bring wine, and we wil fill our selues with strong drinke, and to morowe shalbe as this day, and much more abundant.

¹ O Lord, if I dispute with thee, thou art righteous: yet let mee talke with thee of thy iudgements: wherefore doeth the way of the wicked prosper? why are all they in wealth that rebelliously transgresse? ² Thou hast planted them, and they haue taken roote: they grow, and bring forth fruite: thou art neere in their mouth, and farre from their reines. ³ But thou, Lord, knowest me: thou hast seene me, and tried mine heart towarde thee: pull them out like sheepe for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

⁷ The Lord hath sworne by the excellencie of Iaakob, Surely I will neuer forget any of their workes.

² Though they digge into the hell, thence shall mine hande take them: though they clime vp to heauen, thence will I bring them downe.

¹³ Thou art of pure eyes, and canst not see euill: thou canst not behold wickednesse: wherefore doest thou looke vpon the transgressors, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked deuoureth the man, that is more righteous then he?

¹⁶ And he put foorth a parable vnto them, saying, The grounde of a certaine riche man brought foorth fruites plenteously. ¹⁷ Therefore he thought with himselfe, saying, What shall I doe, because I haue no roume, where I may lay vp my fruites? ¹⁸ And he said, This wil I do, I wil pul downe my barnes, and builde greater, and therein will I gather all my fruites, and my goods. ¹⁹ And I wil say to my soule, Soule, thou hast much goods laide vp for many yeeres: liue at ease, eate, drinke and take thy pastime. ²⁰ But God said vnto him, O foole, this night wil they fetch away thy soule from thee: then whose shall those things be which thou hast prouided?

⁴⁵ But if that seruant say in his heart, My master doeth deferre his comming, and ginne to smite the seruants, and maydens, and to eate, and drinke, and to be drunken,

³ For when they shall say, Peace, and safetie, then shall come vpon them sudden destruction, as the trauaile vpon a woman with childe, and they shall not escape,

²³ And I will kill her children with death: and all the Churches shall know that I am he which searche the reines and heartes: and I will giue vnto euery one of you according vnto your workes.
