¹¹ Beholde, we count them blessed which endure. Ye haue heard of the patience of Iob, and haue knowen what ende the Lord made. For the Lord is very pitifull and mercifull.

⁶ So the Lord passed before his face, and cried, The Lord, the Lord, strong, mercifull, and gracious, slowe to anger, and abundant in goodnesse and trueth,

¹⁸ The Lord is slowe to anger, and of great mercie, and forgiuing iniquitie, and sinne, but not making the wicked innocent, and visiting the wickednes of the fathers vpon the children, in the thirde and fourth generation:

¹³ And Dauid said vnto Gad, I am in a wonderfull strait. let me nowe fall into the hande of the Lord: for his mercies are exceeding great, and let me not fall into the hande of man.

⁹ For if ye returne vnto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall finde mercy before them that led them captiues, and they shall returne vnto this lande: for the Lord your God is gracious and mercifull, and will not turne away his face from you, if ye conuert vnto him.

¹⁷ But refused to obey, and would not remember thy marueilous works that thou haddest done for them, but hardened their neckes, and had in their heads to returne to their bondage by their rebellion: but thou, O God of mercies, gratious and full of compassion, of long suffring and of great mercie, yet forsookest them not.

³¹ Yet for thy great mercies thou hast not consumed them, neither forsaken them: for thou art a gracious and mercifull God.

² And he had seue sonnes, and three daughters.

²¹ And sayd, Naked came I out of my mothers wombe, and naked shall I returne thither: the Lord hath giuen, and the Lord hath taken it: blessed be the Name of the Lord. ²² In all this did not Iob sinne, nor charge God foolishly.

¹⁰ But he said vnto her, Thou speakest like a foolish woman: what? shall we receiue good at the hande of God, and not receiue euill? In all this did not Iob sinne with his lippes.

¹⁵ Loe, though he slay me, yet will I trust in him, and I will reprooue my wayes in his sight. ¹⁶ He shalbe my saluation also: for the hypocrite shall not come before him.

¹⁰ But he knoweth my way, and trieth mee, and I shall come forth like the gold.

¹⁰ Then the Lord turned the captiuitie of Iob, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gaue Iob twise so much as he had before. ¹¹ Then came vnto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had bene of his acquaintance before, and did eate bread with him in his house, and had compassion of him, and comforted him for al the euil, that the Lord had brought vpon him, and euery man gaue him a piece of money, and euery one an earing of golde. ¹² So the Lord blessed the last dayes of Iob more then the first: for he had foureteene thousand sheepe, and sixe thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand shee asses. ¹³ He had also seue sonnes, and three daughters. ¹⁴ And he called the name of one Iemimah, and the name of the seconde Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch. ¹⁵ In all the lande were no women found so faire as the daughters of Iob, and their father gaue them inheritaunce among their brethren. ¹⁶ And after this liued Iob an hundreth and fourtie yeres, and sawe his sonnes, and his sonnes sonnes, euen foure generations. ¹⁷ So Iob dyed, being old, and full of dayes.

⁶ Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies, and thy louing kindnesse: for they haue beene for euer. ⁷ Remember not the sinnes of my youth, nor my rebellions, but according to thy kindenesse remember thou me, euen for thy goodnesse sake, O Lord.

³⁷ Marke the vpright man, and beholde the iust: for the end of that man is peace.

¹ To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David, when the Prophet Nathan came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. Have mercie vpon me, O God, according to thy louing kindnes: according to the multitude of thy compassions put away mine iniquities.

³⁸ Yet he being merciful forgaue their iniquitie, and destroied them not, but oft times called backe his anger, and did not stirre vp all his wrath.

⁵ For thou, Lord, art good and mercifull, and of great kindenes vnto all them, that call vpon thee.

¹⁵ But thou, O Lord, art a pitifull God and mercifull, slowe to anger and great in kindenes and trueth.

¹² Blessed is the man, whom thou chastisest, O Lord, and teachest him in thy Lawe,

⁸ The Lord is full of compassion and mercie, slowe to anger and of great kindnesse.

¹³ As a father hath compassion on his children, so hath the Lord compassion on them that feare him.

⁵ The Lord is mercifull and righteous, and our God is full of compassion.

¹³² Looke vpon mee and bee mercifull vnto me, as thou vsest to doe vnto those that loue thy Name.

⁸ The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great mercie.

⁸ For like ye noyse of the thornes vnder the pot, so is the laughter of the foole: this also is vanitie.

⁶ Seeke ye the Lord while he may be found: call ye vpon him while he is neere. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his wayes, and the vnrighteous his owne imaginations, and returne vnto the Lord, and he wil haue mercy vpon him: and to our God, for hee is very ready to forgiue.

⁷ I wil remember the mercies of the Lord and the prayses of the Lord according vnto all that the Lord hath giuen vs, and for the great goodnesse toward the house of Israel, which hee hath giuen them according to his tender loue, and according to his great mercies.

⁹ In all their troubles he was troubled, and the Angel of his presence saued them: in his loue and in his mercie he redeemed them, and he bare them and caried them alwayes continually.

²² It is the Lordes mercies that wee are not consumed, because his compassions faile not.

⁹ Yet compassion and forgiuenesse is in the Lord our God, albeit we haue rebelled against him.

¹⁸ O my God, encline thine eare and heare: open thine eyes, and beholde our desolations, and the citie whereupon thy Name is called: for we doe not present our supplications before thee for our owne righteousnes, but for thy great tender mercies. ¹⁹ O Lord, heare, O Lord forgiue, O Lord consider, and doe it: deferre not, for thine owne sake, O my God: for thy Name is called vpon thy citie, and vpon thy people.

¹³ And rent your heart, and not your clothes: and turne vnto the Lord your God, for he is gratious, and mercifull, slowe to anger, and of great kindnes, and repenteth him of the euill.

² And he prayed vnto the Lord, and saide, I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my countrey? therefore I preuented it to flee vnto Tarshish: for I knewe that thou art a gratious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindnes, and repentest thee of the euill.

¹⁸ Who is a God like vnto thee, that taketh away iniquitie, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage! He reteineth not his wrath for euer, because mercie pleaseth him.

¹⁰ Blessed are they which suffer persecution for righteousnes sake: for theirs is the kingdome of heauen. ¹¹ Blessed shall ye be when men reuile you, and persecute you, and say all maner of euill against you for my sake, falsely.

²² And yee shall be hated of all men for my Name: but he that endureth to the end, he shall be saued.

⁵⁰ And his mercie is from generation to generation on them that feare him.

³⁶ Be ye therefore mercifull, as your Father also is mercifull.

⁴ Or despisest thou the riches of his bountifulnesse, and patience, and long sufferance, not knowing that the bountifulnesse of God leadeth thee to repentance?

⁶ To the prayse of the glory of his grace, wherewith he hath made vs freely accepted in his beloued,

⁴ But God which is rich in mercie, through his great loue wherewith he loued vs,

⁶ But Christ is as the Sonne, ouer his owne house, whose house we are, if we holde fast that confidence and that reioycing of that hope vnto the ende.

¹⁴ For we are made partakers of Christ, if we keepe sure vnto the ende that beginning, wherewith we are vpholden,

³⁹ But we are not they which withdrawe our selues vnto perdition, but follow faith vnto the conseruation of the soule.

¹² Blessed is ye man, that endureth tentation: for when he is tried, hee shall receiue the crowne of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that loue him.

⁶ Wherein yee reioyce, though nowe for a season (if neede require) yee are in heauinesse, through manifolde tentations, ⁷ That the triall of your faith, being much more precious then golde that perisheth (though it be tried with fire) might bee founde vnto your praise, and honour and glorie at the appearing of Iesus Christ:

¹³ Wherefore, girde vp the Ioynes of your minde: bee sober, and trust perfectly on that grace that is brought vnto you, in the reuelation of Iesus Christ,

⁹ The Lord knoweth to deliuer the godly out of tentation, and to reserue the vniust vnto the day of iudgement vnder punishment.
