²⁶ Then Iudah said vnto his brethren, What auaileth it, if we slay our brother, though wee keepe his blood secret?

¹⁰ Againe he said, What hast thou done? the voyce of thy brothers blood cryeth vnto me from the earth.

³² And Esau sayd, Lo, I am almost dead, what is then this birthright to me?

²⁰ Come now therefore, and let vs slay him, and cast him into some pitte, and wee will say, A wicked beast hath deuoured him: then wee shall see, what will come of his dreames.

⁸ If there rise a matter too harde for thee in iudgement betweene blood and blood, betweene plea and plea, betweene plague and plague, in the matters of controuersie within thy gates, then shalt thou arise, and goe vp vnto the place which the Lord thy God shall chuse,

¹⁶ Then said Dauid vnto him, Thy blood be vpon thine owne head: for thine owne mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I haue slaine the Lords Anoynted.

¹⁸ O earth, couer not thou my blood, and let my crying finde no place.

⁹ What profite is there in my blood, when I go downe to the pit? shall the dust giue thankes vnto thee? or shall it declare thy trueth?

⁸ But tenne men were founde among them, that saide vnto Ishmael, Slay vs not: for we haue treasures in the fielde, of wheate, and of barley, and of oyle, and of honie: so he stayed, and slew them not among their brethren.

⁷ For her blood is in the middes of her: shee set it vpon an high rocke, and powred it not vpon on the ground to couer it with dust,

²⁶ For what shall it profite a man though he should winne the whole worlde, if hee lose his owne soule? or what shall a man giue for recompence of his soule?

²¹ What fruit had ye then in those things, whereof ye are nowe ashamed? For the ende of those things is death.
