And Ioseph was a faire person, and well fauoured. ⁷ Nowe therefore after these thinges, his masters wife cast her eyes vpon Ioseph, and saide, Lye with me. ⁸ But he refused and said to his masters wife, Beholde, my master knoweth not what he hath in the house with me, but hath committed all that he hath to mine hande. ⁹ There is no man greater in this house then I: neither hath he kept any thing from me, but only thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickednes and so sinne against God? ¹⁰ And albeit she spake to Ioseph day by day, yet he hearkened not vnto her, to lye with her, or to be in her company. ¹¹ Then on a certaine day Ioseph entred into the house, to doe his businesse: and there was no man of the houshold in the house: ¹² Therefore she caught him by his garmet, saying, Sleepe with me: but he left his garment in her hand and fled, and got him out. ¹³ Nowe when she sawe that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled out, ¹⁴ She called vnto the men of her house, and tolde them, saying, Beholde, he hath brought in an Ebrewe vnto vs to mocke vs: who came in to me for to haue slept with me: but I cryed with a loude voyce. ¹⁵ And when he heard that I lift vp my voice and cryed, he left his garment with me, and fled away, and got him out. ¹⁶ So she layde vp his garment by her, vntill her lord came home. ¹⁷ Then she tolde him according to these words, saying, The Ebrew seruat, which thou hast brought vnto vs, came in to me, to mocke me. ¹⁸ But assoone as I lift vp my voyce and cried, he left his garment with me, and fled out. ¹⁹ Then when his master heard the wordes of his wife, which she tolde him, saying, After this maner did thy seruant to me, his anger was kindled. ²⁰ And Iosephs master tooke him and put him in prison, in the place, where the kings prisoners lay bounde: and there he was in prison. ²¹ But the Lord was with Ioseph, and shewed him mercie, and got him fauour in the sight of the master of the prison. ²² And the keeper of the prison committed to Iosephs hande all the prisoners that were in the prison, and whatsoeuer they did there, that did he. ²³ And the keeper of the prison looked vnto nothing that was vnder his hande, seeing that the Lord was with him: for whatsoeuer he did, the Lord made it to prosper.

⁶ Now Ioseph was gouerner of the land, who solde to all the people of the lande: then Iosephs brethren came, and bowed their face to the groud before him.

¹³ Also the sonnes of Issachar: Tola, and Phuuah, and Iob, and Shimron. ¹⁴ Also the sonnes of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Iahleel. ¹⁵ These bee the sonnes of Leah, which shee bare vnto Iaakob in Padan Aram, with his daughter Dinah. All the soules of his sonnes and his daughters were thirtie and three. ¹⁶ Also the sonnes of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli. ¹⁷ Also the sonnes of Asher: Iimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister. And the sonnes of Beriah: Heber, and Malchiel.

²³ Also the sonnes of Dan: Hushim. ²⁴ Also the sonnes of Naphtali: Iahzeel, and Guni, and Iezer, and Shillem.

²⁵ Then they answered, Thou hast saued our liues: let vs finde grace in the sight of my Lord, and we will be Pharaohs seruants.

¹ Againe after this, one sayd to Ioseph, Loe, thy father is sicke: then hee tooke with him his two sonnes, Manasseh and Ephraim. ² Also one told Iaakob, and said, Behold, thy sonne Ioseph is come to thee, and Israel tooke his strength vnto him and sate vpon the bed. ³ Then Iaakob sayde vnto Ioseph, God almightie appeared vnto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me. ⁴ And he sayde vnto me, Behold, I wil make thee fruitefull, and will multiplie thee, and will make a great number of people of thee, and will giue this lande vnto thy seede after thee for an euerlasting possession. ⁵ And now thy two sonnes, Manasseh and Ephraim, which are borne vnto thee in the lande of Egypt, before I came to thee into Egypt, shall be mine, as Reuben and Simeon are mine. ⁶ But the linage, which thou hast begotten after them, shalbe thine: they shall be called after the names of their brethren in their inheritance. ⁷ Nowe when I came from Padan, Rahel died vpon mine hande in the lande of Canaan, by the way when there was but halfe a dayes iourney of grounde to come to Ephrath: and I buryed her there in the way to Ephrath: the same is Beth-lehem. ⁸ Then Israel beheld Iosephs sonnes and sayd, Whose are these? ⁹ And Ioseph sayd vnto his father, They are my sonnes, which God hath giuen mee here. Then he sayd, I pray thee, bring them to me, that I may blesse them: ¹⁰ (For the eyes of Israel were dimme for age, so that hee coulde not well see) Then he caused them to come to him, and he kissed them and embraced them. ¹¹ And Israel sayde vnto Ioseph, I had not thought to haue seene thy face: yet lo, God hath shewed me also thy seede. ¹² And Ioseph tooke them away from his knees, and did reuerence downe to the ground. ¹³ Then tooke Ioseph them both, Ephraim in his right hand towarde Israels left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israels right hand, so he brought them vnto him. ¹⁴ But Israel stretched out his right hand, and layde it on Ephraims head, which was the yonger, and his left hande vpon Manassehs head (directing his handes of purpose) for Manasseh was the elder. ¹⁵ Also he blessed Ioseph and sayde, The God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Izhak did walke, the God, which hath fed me al my life long vnto this day, blesse thee. ¹⁶ The Angel, which hath deliuered me from all euill, blesse the children, and let my name be named vpon them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Izhak, that they may growe as fish into a multitude in the middes of the earth. ¹⁷ But when Ioseph sawe that his father layde his right hande vpon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he stayed his fathers hand to remooue it from Ephraims head to Manassehs head. ¹⁸ And Ioseph sayde vnto his father, Not so, my father, for this is the eldest: put thy right hand vpon his head. ¹⁹ But his father refused, and sayd, I know well, my sonne, I know well: he shalbe also a people, and he shalbe great likewise: but his yonger brother shalbe greater then he, and his seede shall be full of nations. ²⁰ So he blessed them that day, and sayde, In thee Israel shall blesse, and say, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh. and he set Ephraim before Manasseh. ²¹ Then Israel said vnto Ioseph, Behold, I die, and God shall be with you, and bring you againe vnto the land of your fathers. ²² Moreouer, I haue giuen vnto thee one portion aboue thy brethren, which I gate out of the hand of the Amorite by my sworde and by my bowe.

¹³ Zebulun shall dwell by the sea side, and he shalbe an hauen for shippes: and his border shalbe vnto Zidon. ¹⁴ Issachar shalbe a strong asse, couching downe betweene two burdens: ¹⁵ And he shall see that rest is good, and that the land is pleasant, and he shall bow his shoulder to beare, and shalbe subiect vnto tribute. ¹⁶ Dan shall iudge his people as one of the tribes of Israel. ¹⁷ Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder by the path, byting the horse heeles, so that his rider shall fall backward.

¹⁹ Gad, an hoste of men shall ouercome him, but he shall ouercome at the last. ²⁰ Concerning Asher, his bread shalbe fat, and he shall giue pleasures for a king. ²¹ Naphtali shalbe a hinde let goe, giuing goodly wordes. ²² Ioseph shalbe a fruitefull bough, euen a fruitful bough by the well side: the small boughs shall runne vpon the wall. ²³ And the archers grieued him, and shotte against him and hated him. ²⁴ But his bowe abode strong, and the hands of his armes were strengthened, by the handes of the mighty God of Iaakob, of whom was the feeder appointed, by the stone of Israel, ²⁵ Euen by the God of thy father, who shall helpe thee, and by the almightie, who shall blesse thee with heauenly blessinges from aboue, with blessings of the deepe, that lyeth beneath, with blessings of the brestes, and of the wombe. ²⁶ The blessings of thy father shalbe stronger then the blessings of mine elders: vnto the ende of the hilles of the worlde they shall be on the head of Ioseph, and on the top of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

¹⁹ To whome Ioseph sayde, Feare not: for am not I vnder God?

²³ And Ioseph saw Ephraims children, euen vnto the third generation: also the sonnes of Machir the sonne of Manasseh were brought vp on Iosephs knees.

⁷ Then the Lord said, I haue surely seene the trouble of my people, which are in Egypt, and haue heard their crie, because of their taskemasters: for I knowe their sorowes.

²¹ And I will make this people to be fauoured of the Egyptians: so that when ye go, ye shall not goe emptie.

²⁸ Pray ye vnto the Lord (for it is ynough) that there be no more mightie thunders and haile, and I will let you goe, and yee shall tarie no longer.

³⁵ And the children of Israel did according to the saying of Moses, and they asked of ye Egyptians iewels of siluer and iewels of gold, and raiment. ³⁶ And the Lord gaue the people fauour in the sight of the Egyptians: and they graunted their request: so they spoyled the Egyptians.

¹⁴ And when thy sonne shall aske thee to morowe, saying, What is this? thou shalt then say vnto him, With a mightie hande the Lord brought vs out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

¹⁹ Nowe, as soone as he came neere vnto the hoste, he sawe the calfe and the dancing: so Moses wrath waxed hote, and he cast the Tables out of his handes, and brake them in pieces beneath the mountaine.

¹¹ And Moses saide vnto the Lord, Wherefore hast thou vexed thy seruant? and why haue I not found fauour in thy sight, seeing thou hast put the charge of al this people vpon mee?

¹⁵ Therefore if thou deale thus with mee, I pray thee, if I haue founde fauour in thy sight, kill me, that I behold not my miserie.

²⁹ But Moses saide vnto him, Enuiest thou for my sake? yea, would God that all the Lordes people were Prophets, and that the Lord woulde put his Spirit vpon them.

⁹ Seemeth it a small thing vnto you that the God of Israel hath separated you from the multitude of Israel, to take you neere to himselfe, to doe the seruice of the Tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the Congregation and to minister vnto them? ¹⁰ He hath also taken thee to him, and all thy brethren the sonnes of Leui with thee, and seeke ye the office of the Priest also?

¹³ Is it a small thing that thou hast brought vs out of a lande that floweth with milke and honie, to kill vs in the wildernesse, except thou make thy selfe lord and ruler ouer vs also?

²⁹ And Balaam saide vnto the asse, Because thou hast mocked me: I woulde there were a sworde in mine hand, for nowe would I kill thee.

¹³ And he wil loue thee, and blesse thee, and multiplie thee: he will also blesse the fruite of thy wombe, and the fruite of thy land, thy corne and thy wine, and thine oyle and the increase of thy kine, and the flockes of thy sheepe in the land, which he sware vnto thy fathers to giue thee. ¹⁴ Thou shalt be blessed aboue all people: there shall be neither male nor female barren among you, nor among your cattell.

¹⁰ For the land whither thou goest to possesse it, is not as the lande of Egypt, from whence ye came, where thou sowedst thy seede, and wateredst it with thy feete as a garden of herbes:

¹³ And of Ioseph hee sayde, Blessed of the Lord is his land for the sweetenesse of heauen, for the dewe, and for the depth lying beneath, ¹⁴ And for the sweete increase of the sunne, and for the sweete increase of the moone, ¹⁵ And for the sweetenes of the top of the ancient mountaines, and for the sweetenes of the olde hilles, ¹⁶ And for the sweetenesse of the earth, and abundance thereof: and the good will of him that dwelt in the bushe, shall come vpon the head of Ioseph, and vpon the toppe of the head of him that was separated from his brethren. ¹⁷ His beautie shalbe like his first borne bullock, and his hornes as the hornes of an vnicorne: with them hee shall smite the people together, euen the endes of the world: these are also the ten thousands of Ephraim, and these are the thousands of Manasseh. ¹⁸ And of Zebulun he sayd, Reioice, Zebulun, in thy going out, and thou Isshachar in thy tents.

²⁰ Also of Gad he said, Blessed be hee that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, that catcheth for his praye the arme with the head. ²¹ And hee looked to himselfe at the beginning, because there was a portion of the Lawe-giuer hid: yet hee shall come with the heades of the people, to execute the iustice of the Lord, and his iudgements with Israel. ²² And of Dan he said, Dan is a lions whelp: he shall leape from Bashan. ²³ Also of Naphtali he sayd, O Naphtali, satisfied with fauour, and filled with the blessing of the Lord, possesse the West and the South. ²⁴ And of Asher he saide, Asher shalbe blessed with children: he shalbe acceptable vnto his brethren, and shall dippe his foote in oyle. ²⁵ Thy shooes shalbe yron and brasse, and thy strength shall continue as long as thou liuest.

¹⁰ And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh, and he went vp on his feete with ten thousand men, and Deborah went vp with him.

¹⁴ Of Ephraim their roote arose against Amalek: and after thee, Beniamin shall fight against thy people, O Amalek: of Machir came rulers, and of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.

¹³ Then she saide, Let me finde fauour in thy sight, my lord: for thou hast comforted mee, and spoken comfortably vnto thy mayde, though I be not like to one of thy maydes.

¹¹ And all the people that were in the gate, and the Elders sayd, We are witnesses: the Lord make the wife that commeth into thine house, like Rahel and like Leah, which twaine did build the house of Israel: and that thou mayest doe worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Beth-lehem,

⁴ And on a day, when Elkanah sacrificed, he gaue to Peninnah his wife and to all her sonnes and daughters portions, ⁵ But vnto Hannah he gaue a worthy portion: for he loued Hannah, and the Lord had made her barren.

¹⁹ Then they rose vp early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah. Nowe Elkanah knewe Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembred her. ²⁰ For in processe of time Hannah conceiued, and bare a sonne, and she called his name Samuel, Because, said she, I haue asked him of the Lord.

⁵ They that were full, are hired foorth for bread, and the hungrie are no more hired, so that the barren hath borne seuen: and shee that had many children, is feeble. ⁶ The Lord killeth and maketh aliue: bringeth downe to the graue and raiseth vp.

¹⁵ And there was a feare in the hoste, and in the field, and among all the people: the garison also, and they that went out to spoyle, were afraid themselues: and the earth trembled: for it was striken with feare by God.

²² And Saul sent to Ishai, saying, Let Dauid nowe remaine with me: for he hath found fauour in my sight.

²³ And let the Lord rewarde euery man according to his righteousnesse and faithfulnesse: for the Lord had deliuered thee into mine handes this day, but I woulde not lay mine hand vpon the Lords anointed.

¹¹ Thus sayth the Lord, Behold, I will rayse vp euil against thee out of thine owne house, and will take thy wiues before thine eyes, and giue them vnto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wiues in the sight of this sunne.

⁴ The Gibeonites then answered him, Wee will haue no siluer nor golde of Saul nor of his house, neither for vs shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I doe for you. ⁵ Then they answered the King, The man that consumed vs and that imagined euill against vs, so that we are destroyed from remaining in any coast of Israel, ⁶ Let seuen men of his sonnes be deliuered vnto vs, and we will hang them vp vnto the Lord in Gibeah of Saul, the Lordes chosen. And the King said, I will giue them.

²¹ The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousnesse: according to the purenesse of mine handes he recompensed me.

¹⁹ So Hadad found great fauour in the sight of Pharaoh, and he gaue him to wife the sister of his owne wife, euen the sister of Tahpenes the Queene.

⁴ But he went a dayes iourney into the wildernesse, and came and sate downe vnder a iuniper tree, and desired that he might die, and sayde, It is now ynough: O Lord, take my soule, for I am no better then my fathers.

⁷ And when the King of Israel had read the letter, he rent his clothes, and sayde, Am I God, to kill and to giue life, that hee doth send to mee, that I should heale a man from his leprosie? wherfore consider, I pray you, and see howe he seeketh a quarel against me.

³² And of the children of Issachar which were men that had vnderstanding of the times, to knowe what Israel ought to doe: the heades of them were two hundreth, and all their brethren were at their commandement.

¹¹ O Lord, I beseech thee, let thine eare now hearken to the prayer of thy seruant, and to the prayer of thy seruants, who desire to feare thy Name, and I pray thee, cause thy seruant to prosper this day, and giue him fauour in the presence of this man: for I was the Kings butler.

⁵ And sayde vnto the King, If it please the King, and if thy seruant haue found fauour in thy sight, I desire that thou wouldest send me to Iudah vnto the city of the sepulchres of my fathers, that I may buyld it.

¹ Afterward Iob opened his mouth, and cursed his day. ² And Iob cryed out, and sayd, ³ Let the day perish, wherein I was borne, and the night when it was sayde, There is a man childe conceiued.

¹¹ Why died I not in the birth? or why dyed I not, when I came out of the wombe? ¹² Why did the knees preuent me? and why did I sucke the breasts?

²⁰ Wherefore is the light giuen to him that is in miserie? and life vnto them that haue heauie hearts? ²¹ Which long for death, and if it come not, they would euen search it more then treasures: ²² Which ioy for gladnes, and reioyce, when they can finde the graue.

² Doubtlesse anger killeth the foolish, and enuie slayeth the idiote.

¹⁹ Who is he, that will pleade with me? for if I nowe holde my tongue, I dye.

³ For he shall be like a tree planted by the riuers of waters, that will bring foorth her fruite in due season: whose leafe shall not fade: so whatsoeuer he shall doe, shall prosper.

²⁴ Iudge me, O Lord my God, according to thy righteousnesse, and let them not reioyce ouer mee.

⁶ And he shall bring foorth thy righteousnes as the light, and thy iudgement as the noone day.

¹ Judge me, O God, and defend my cause against the vnmercifull people: deliuer mee from the deceitfull and wicked man.

²⁷ There was litle Beniamin with their ruler, and the princes of Iudah with their assemblie, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.

⁴² For he remembred his holy promise to Abraham his seruant,

¹⁶ They enuied Moses also in the tentes, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.

⁹ He maketh the barren woman to dwell with a familie, and a ioyfull mother of children. Prayse ye the Lord.

⁸ It is better to trust in the Lord, then to haue confidence in man.

³ Beholde, children are the inheritance of the Lord, and the fruite of the wombe his rewarde.

³⁰ A sounde heart is the life of the flesh: but enuie is the rotting of the bones.

²⁸ Her children rise vp, and call her blessed: her husband also shall prayse her, saying,

⁷ I haue gotten seruants and maides, and had children borne in the house: also I had great possession of beeues and sheepe aboue all that were before me in Ierusalem.

⁴ Also I beheld all trauaile, and all perfection of workes that this is ye enuie of a man against his neighbour: this also is vanitie and vexation of spirit.

⁹ Who is shee that looketh foorth as the morning, fayre as the moone, pure as the sunne, terrible as an armie with banners!

¹³ The mandrakes haue giuen a smelll, and in our gates are all sweete things, new and olde: my welbeloued, I haue kept them for thee.

¹ And in that day shall seuen women take hold of one man, saying, Wee will eate our owne bread, and we wil weare our owne garments: onely let vs bee called by thy name, and take away our reproche.

¹³ But yet in it shalbe a tenth, and shall returne, and shalbe eaten vp as an elme or an oke, which haue a substance in them, when they cast their leaues: so the holy seede shall be the substance thereof.

¹³ Then he sayd, Heare you nowe, O house of Dauid, Is it a small thing for you to grieue men, that ye will also grieue my God?

¹² For our trespasses are many before thee, and our sinnes testifie against vs: for our trespasses are with vs, and we knowe our iniquities

⁹ And their seede shall be knowen among the Gentiles, and their buddes among the people. All that see them, shall know them, that they are the seede which the Lord hath blessed.

⁸ Thus sayth the Lord, As the wine is found in the cluster, and one sayth, Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it, so will I doe for my seruants sakes, that I may not destroy them whole.

¹¹ But ye are they that haue forsaken the Lord and forgotten mine holy Mountaine, and haue prepared a table for the multitude, and furnish the drinke offerings vnto the number.

² So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.

²⁴ Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.

¹⁴ And I wil make thee to go with thine enemies into a land that thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burne you. ¹⁵ O Lord, thou knowest, remember me, and visite me, and reuenge me of my persecuters: take mee not away in the continuance of thine anger: know that for thy sake I haue suffered rebuke. ¹⁶ Thy wordes were founde by me, and I did eate them, and thy worde was vnto me the ioy and reioycing of mine heart: for thy Name is called vpon me, O Lord God of hostes. ¹⁷ I sate not in the assembly of the mockers, neither did I reioyce, but sate alone because of thy plague: for thou hast filled me with indignation. ¹⁸ Why is mine heauines continuall? and my plague desperate and cannot be healed? why art thou vnto me as a lyar, and as waters that faile? ¹⁹ Therefore thus saith the Lord, If thou returne, then wil I bring thee againe, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take away the precious from the vile, thou shalt be according to my worde: let them returne vnto thee, but returne not thou vnto them. ²⁰ And I will make thee vnto this people a strong brasen wall, and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not preuaile against thee: for I am with thee to saue thee and to deliuer thee, saith ye Lord.

¹⁴ Cursed be the day wherein I was borne: and let not the day wherein my mother bare me, be blessed. ¹⁵ Cursed be the man, that shewed my father, saying, A man child is borne vnto thee, and comforted him. ¹⁶ And let that man be as the cities, which the Lord hath ouerturned and repented not: and let him heare the cry in the morning, and the showting at noone tide, ¹⁷ Because he hath not slaine me, euen from the wombe, or that my mother might haue bene my graue, or her wobe a perpetual conception. ¹⁸ How is it, that I came forth of the wombe, to see labour and sorowe, that my dayes shoulde be consumed with shame?

⁵⁹ O Lord, thou hast seene my wrong, iudge thou my cause.

⁴⁷ Yet hast thou not walked after their wayes, nor done after their abominations: but as it had bene a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more then they in all thy wayes.

⁸ The cedars in the garden of God coulde not hide him: no firre tree was like his branches, and the chessenut trees were not like his boughes: all the trees in the garden of God were not like vnto him in his beautie.

¹⁶ Moreouer thou sonne of man, take thee a piece of wood, and write vpon it, Vnto Iudah, and to the children of Israel his companions the take another piece of wood, and write vpon it, Vnto Ioseph the tree of Ephraim, and to al the house of Israel his companions.

¹⁰ So that they shall bring no wood out of the fielde, neither cut downe any out of the forestes: for they shall burne the weapons with fire, and they shall robbe those that robbed them, and spoyle those that spoyled them, sayeth the Lord God.

⁹ (Nowe God had brought Daniel into fauour, and tender loue with the chiefe of the Eunuches)

¹² And Iaakob fled into the countrey of Aram, and Israel serued for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheepe.

¹³ And leauing Nazareth, went and dwelt in Capernaum, which is neere the sea in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim,

²² But I say vnto you, whosoeuer is angry with his brother vnaduisedly, shalbe culpable of iudgment. And whosoeuer sayth vnto his brother, Raca, shalbe worthy to be punished by the Councill. And whosoeuer shall say, Foole, shalbe worthy to be punished with hell fire.

⁴⁵ Who then is a faithfull seruaunt and wise, whom his master hath made ruler ouer his household, to giue them meate in season?

⁷ For I woulde that all men were euen as I my selfe am: but euery man hath his proper gift of God, one after this maner, and another after that.

²¹ Enuie, murthers, drunkennesse, gluttonie, and such like, whereof I tell you before, as I also haue tolde you before, that they which doe such things, shall not inherite the kingdome of God.

²⁶ Bee angrie, but sinne not: let not the sunne goe downe vpon your wrath,

⁵ Seruants, be obedient vnto them that are your masters, according to the flesh, with feare and trembling in singlenesse of your hearts as vnto Christ, ⁶ Not with seruice to the eye, as men pleasers, but as the seruants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, ⁷ With good will, seruing the Lord, and not men. ⁸ And knowe ye that whatsoeuer good thing any man doeth, that same shall he receiue of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

²² Seruants, be obedient vnto them that are your masters according to the flesh, in all things, not with eye seruice as men pleasers, but in singlenes of heart, fearing God. ²³ And whatsoeuer ye doe, doe it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men, ²⁴ Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receiue the reward of the inheritance: for ye serue the Lord Christ. ²⁵ But he that doeth wrong, shall receiue for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

⁸ If there bee any that prouideth not for his owne, and namely for them of his housholde, hee denieth the faith, and is worse then an infidell.

⁹ Let seruants be subiect to their masters, and please them in al things, not answering again, ¹⁰ Neither pickers, but that they shew al good faithfulnesse, that they may adorne the doctrine of God our Sauiour in all things.

³ For wee our selues also were in times past vnwise, disobedient, deceiued, seruing the lustes and diuers pleasures, liuing in maliciousnes and enuie, hatefull, and hating one another:

⁹ By faith he abode in the land of promise, as in a strange countrey, as one that dwelt in tents with Isaac and Iacob heires with him of the same promise.

¹⁵ And if they had bene mindfull of that countrey, from whence they came out, they had leasure to haue returned. ¹⁶ But nowe they desire a better, that is an heauenly: wherefore God is not ashamed of them to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a citie.

²¹ By faith Iacob when he was a dying, blessed both the sonnes of Ioseph, and leaning on the ende of his staffe, worshipped God. ²² By faith Ioseph when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel, and gaue commandement of his bones.

⁵ Let your conuersation be without couetousnesse, and be content with those things that ye haue, for he hath said,

¹⁴ But if ye haue bitter enuying and strife in your hearts, reioyce not, neither be liars against the trueth.

⁵ Doe ye thinke that the Scripture sayeth in vaine, The spirit that dwelleth in vs, lusteth after enuie?

¹⁵ For so is the will of God, that by well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of the foolish men,

¹⁸ Seruaunts, be subiect to your masters with all feare, not onely to the good and courteous, but also to the froward.

⁸ Of the tribe of Ioseph were sealed twelue thousande. Of the tribe of Beniamin were sealed twelue thousand.
