⁴ I haue made my great workes: I haue built me houses: I haue planted me vineyards.

⁴ Also they said, Goe to, let vs builde vs a citie and a towre, whose top may reache vnto the heauen, that we may get vs a name, lest we be scattered vpon the whole earth.

¹² Lest when thou hast eaten and filled thy selfe, and hast built goodly houses and dwelt therein, ¹³ And thy beastes, and thy sheepe are increased, and thy siluer and golde is multiplied, and all that thou hast is increased, ¹⁴ Then thine heart be lifted vp and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage,

¹⁸ Nowe Absalom in his life time had taken and reared him vp a pillar, which is in the kings dale: for he saide, I haue no sonne to keepe my name in remembrance. and he called the pillar after his owne name, and it is called vnto this day, Absaloms place.

¹ Bvt Salomon was building his owne house thirteene yeeres, and finished all his house. ² He built also an house called the forest of Lebanon, an hundreth cubites long, and fiftie cubites broad, and thirtie cubites hie, vpon foure rowes of cedar pillars, and cedar beames were layed vpon the pillars. ³ And it was couered aboue with cedar vpon the beames, that lay on the fourtie and fiue pillars, fifteene in a rowe. ⁴ And the windowes were in three rowes, and windowe was against windowe in three rankes. ⁵ And all the doores, and the side postes with the windowes were foure square, and windowe was ouer against windowe in three rankes. ⁶ And he made a porche of pillars fiftie cubites long, and thirtie cubites broade, and the porch was before them, euen before them were thirtie pillars. ⁷ Then he made a porch for the throne, where he iudged, euen a porch of iudgement, and it was sieled with cedar from pauement to pauement. ⁸ And in his house, where he dwelt, was an other hall more inwarde then the porche which was of the same worke. Also Salomon made an house for Pharaohs daughter ( whom he had taken to wife) like vnto this porche. ⁹ All these were of costly stones, hewed by measure, and sawed with sawes within and without, from the foundation vnto the stones of an hand breadth, and on the outside to the great court. ¹⁰ And the foundation was of costly stones, and great stones, euen of stones of ten cubites, and stones of eight cubites. ¹¹ Aboue also were costly stones, squared by rule, and boardes of cedar. ¹² And the great court round about was with three rowes of hewed stones, and a rowe of cedar beames: so was it to ye inner court of the house of the Lord, and to the porche of the house.

¹ When Salomon had finished the building of the house of ye Lord, and the kings palace, and all that Salomon desired and minded to do,

¹⁹ And the throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind, and there were stayes on either side on the place of the throne, and two lions standing by the stayes. ²⁰ And there stoode twelue lions on the sixe steps on either side: there was not the like made in any kingdome.

¹⁹ There is a couenant betweene me and thee, and betweene my father and thy father: behold, I haue sent vnto thee a present of siluer and golde: come, breake thy couenant with Baasha King of Israel, that he may depart from me.

²⁷ And ouer them that dressed the vines, was Shimei the Ramathite: and ouer that which apperteined to the vines, and ouer the store of the wine was Sabdi the Shiphmite:

¹ And after twentie yeere when Salomon had built the house of the Lord, and his owne house, ² Then Salomon built the cities that Huram gaue to Salomon, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there. ³ And Salomon went to Hamath Zobah, and ouercame it. ⁴ And he built Tadmor in the wildernesse, and repayred all the cities of store which hee built in Hamath. ⁵ And he built Beth-horon the vpper, and Beth-horon the nether, cities defensed with walles, gates and barres: ⁶ Also Baalath, and al the cities of store that Salomon had, and all the charet cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and euery pleasant place that Salomon had a minde to builde in Ierusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the lande of his dominion.

¹¹ Then Salomon brought vp the daughter of Pharaoh out of the citie of Dauid, into the house that he had built for her: for he saide, My wife shall not dwel in the house of Dauid King of Israel: for it is holy, because that the Arke of the Lord came vnto it.

¹⁰ And he built towres in the wildernesse, and digged many cisternes: for he had much cattell both in the valleyes and playnes, plowmen, and dressers of vines in the mountaines, and in Carmel: for he loued husbandrie.

¹¹ Yet they thinke, their houses, and their habitations shall continue for euer, euen from generation to generation, and call their lands by their names.

¹⁴ My loue, beholde, thou art faire: beholde, thou art faire: thine eyes are like the doues.

¹² Let vs get vp early to the vines, let vs see if the vine florish, whether it hath budded the small grape, or whether the pomegranates florish: there will I giue thee my loue.

¹¹ Salomon had a vine in Baal-hamon: hee gaue the vineyarde vnto keepers: euery one bringeth for ye fruite thereof a thousand pieces of siluer. ¹² But my vineyarde which is mine, is before me: to thee, O Salomon appertaineth a thousand pieces of siluer, and two hundreth to them that keepe the fruite thereof.

¹ Now will I sing to my beloued a song of my beloued to his vineyarde, My beloued had a vineyarde in a very fruitefull hill,

³⁰ The very same houre was this thing fulfilled vpon Nebuchad-nezzar, and hee was driuen from men, and did eate grasse as the oxen, and his body was wet with the dewe of heauen, till his heares were growen as eagles feathers, and his nailes like birds clawes.
