¹⁶ And when the Angel stretched out his hande vpon Ierusalem to destroy it, the Lord repented of the euil, and said to the Angel that destroyed the people, It is sufficient, holde nowe thine hand. And the Angel of the Lord was by the threshing place of Araunah the Iebusite.

¹⁴ Then the Lord changed his minde from the euil, which he threatned to do vnto his people.

⁶³ Neuerthelesse, the Iebusites that were the inhabitants of Ierusalem, could not the children of Iudah cast out, but the Iebusites dwell with the children of Iudah at Ierusalem vnto this day.

²¹ But the children of Beniamin did not cast out the Iebusites, that inhabited Ierusalem: therefore the Iebusites dwell with the children of Beniamin in Ierusalem vnto this day.

¹¹ When they were neere to Iebus, the day was sore spent, and the seruant said vnto his master, Come, I pray thee, and let vs turne into this citie of the Iebusites, and lodge all night there.

¹¹ It repenteth me that I haue made Saul King: for he is turned from me, and hath not performed my commandements. And Samuel was mooued, and cryed vnto the Lord all night.

³⁵ And the same night the Angell of the Lord went out and smote in the campe of Asshur an hundreth foure score and fiue thousande: so when they rose earely in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came foorth of his owne bowels, slewe him there with the sworde.

⁶ Let their way be darke and slipperie: and let the Angel of the Lord persecute them.

³⁸ Yet he being merciful forgaue their iniquitie, and destroied them not, but oft times called backe his anger, and did not stirre vp all his wrath.

⁸ In measure in the branches thereof wilt thou contende with it, when he bloweth with his rough winde in the day of the East winde.

¹ Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, will your God say. ² Speake comfortably to Ierusalem, and crye vnto her, that her warrefare is accomplished, that her iniquitie is pardoned: for she hath receiued of the Lords hand double for all her sinnes.

¹⁶ For I will not contende for euer, neither will I be alwayes wroth, for the spirite should fayle before me: and I haue made the breath.

⁷ I will speake suddenly against a nation or against a kingdome to plucke it vp, and to roote it out and to destroy it. ⁸ But if this nation, against whom I haue pronounced, turne from their wickednesse, I will repent of the plague that I thought to bring vpon them. ⁹ And I wil speake suddenly concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdome to builde it and to plant it. ¹⁰ But if it do euill in my sight and heare not my voyce, I will repent of ye good that I thought to do for them.

¹³ And rent your heart, and not your clothes: and turne vnto the Lord your God, for he is gratious, and mercifull, slowe to anger, and of great kindnes, and repenteth him of the euill. ¹⁴ Who knoweth, is he wil returne and repent and leaue a blessing behinde him, euen a meate offring, and a drinke offring vnto ye Lord your God?

³ So the Lord repented for this. It shall not be, saith the Lord.

⁴¹ And he came the third time, and said vnto them, Sleepe henceforth, and take your rest: it is ynough: the houre is come: beholde, the Sonne of man is deliuered into the hands of sinners.

²³ But immediatly the Angel of the Lord smote him, because he gaue not glorie vnto God, so that he was eaten of wormes, and gaue vp the ghost.

⁶ It is sufficient vnto the same man, that hee was rebuked of many.
