⁸ And Hiram sent to Salomon, saying, I haue considered the things, for the which thou sentest vnto me, and will accomplish all thy desire, concerning the cedar trees and firre trees. ⁹ My seruants shall bring them downe from Lebanon to the sea: and I will conuey them by sea in raftes vnto the place that thou shalt shew me, and wil cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receiue them: nowe thou shalt doe mee a pleasure to minister foode for my familie. ¹⁰ So Hiram gaue Salomon cedar trees and firre trees, euen his full desire. ¹¹ And Salomon gaue Hiram twentie thousand measures of wheate for foode to his householde, and twentie measures of beaten oyle. Thus much gaue Salomon to Hiram yere by yere. ¹² And the Lord gaue Salomon wisedome as he promised him. And there was peace betweene Hiram and Salomon, and they two made a couenant.

¹ Bvt Salomon was building his owne house thirteene yeeres, and finished all his house. ² He built also an house called the forest of Lebanon, an hundreth cubites long, and fiftie cubites broad, and thirtie cubites hie, vpon foure rowes of cedar pillars, and cedar beames were layed vpon the pillars. ³ And it was couered aboue with cedar vpon the beames, that lay on the fourtie and fiue pillars, fifteene in a rowe. ⁴ And the windowes were in three rowes, and windowe was against windowe in three rankes. ⁵ And all the doores, and the side postes with the windowes were foure square, and windowe was ouer against windowe in three rankes. ⁶ And he made a porche of pillars fiftie cubites long, and thirtie cubites broade, and the porch was before them, euen before them were thirtie pillars. ⁷ Then he made a porch for the throne, where he iudged, euen a porch of iudgement, and it was sieled with cedar from pauement to pauement. ⁸ And in his house, where he dwelt, was an other hall more inwarde then the porche which was of the same worke. Also Salomon made an house for Pharaohs daughter ( whom he had taken to wife) like vnto this porche. ⁹ All these were of costly stones, hewed by measure, and sawed with sawes within and without, from the foundation vnto the stones of an hand breadth, and on the outside to the great court. ¹⁰ And the foundation was of costly stones, and great stones, euen of stones of ten cubites, and stones of eight cubites. ¹¹ Aboue also were costly stones, squared by rule, and boardes of cedar. ¹² And the great court round about was with three rowes of hewed stones, and a rowe of cedar beames: so was it to ye inner court of the house of the Lord, and to the porche of the house.

³ And we will bring againe the Arke of our God to vs: for we sought not vnto it in the dayes of Saul.

⁹ And the Philistims came, and spred them selues in the valley of Rephaim. ¹⁰ Then Dauid asked counsel at God, saying, Shall I goe vp against the Philistims, and wilt thou deliuer them into mine hande? And the Lord saide vnto him, Goe vp: for I will deliuer them into thine hande.

¹³ Againe the Philistims came and spread them selues in the valley. ¹⁴ And when Dauid asked againe counsell at God, God said to him, Thou shalt not goe vp after them, but turne away from them, that thou mayest come vpon them ouer against the mulberie trees.

¹ Nowe afterward when Dauid dwelt in his house, he saide to Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, I dwell in an house of cedar trees, but the Arke of the Lordes couenant remaineth vnder curtaines.

¹⁷ Yet thou esteeming this a small thing, O God, hast also spoken concerning the house of thy seruaut for a great while, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of hie degree, O Lord God.

² And Dauid commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the lande of Israel, and he set masons to hewe and polish stones to builde the house of God.

⁹ Beholde, a sonne is borne to thee, which shalbe a man of rest, for I will giue him rest from all his enemies rounde about: therefore his name is Salomon: and I will sende peace and quietnes vpon Israel in his dayes. ¹⁰ Hee shall builde an house for my Name, and he shalbe my sonne, and I will be his father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdome vpon Israel for euer. ¹¹ Nowe therefore my sonne, the Lord shalbe with thee, and thou shalt prosper, and thou shalt builde an house to the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken of thee. ¹² Onely the Lord giue thee wisedome and vnderstanding, and giue thee charge ouer Israel, euen to keepe the Lawe of the Lord thy God.

⁵ So of all my sonnes (for the Lord hath giuen me many sonnes) he hath euen chosen Salomon my sonne to sit vpon the throne of the kingdome of the Lord ouer Israel. ⁶ And he sayd vnto me, Salomon thy sonne, he shall build mine house and my courtes: for I haue chosen him to be my sonne, and I will be his father.

³ And Salomon sent to Huram the king of Tyrus, saying, As thou hast done to Dauid my father, and didst sende him cedar trees to buylde him an house to dwell in, so do to me.

⁸ Sende mee also cedar trees, firre trees and Algummim trees from Lebanon: for I knowe that thy seruants can skill to hewe timber in Lebanon: and beholde, my seruantes shalbe with thine, ⁹ That they may prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I doe buylde, is great and wonderfull. ¹⁰ And behold, I will giue to thy seruants the cutters and the hewers of timber twentie thousand measures of beaten wheate, and twentie thousand measures of barley, and twentie thousand baths of wine, and twentie thousand baths of oyle. ¹¹ Then Huram King of Tyrus answered in writing which he sent to Salomon, Because the Lord hath loued his people, he hath made thee King ouer them.

⁸ And the Ammonites gaue gifts to Vzziah, and his name spred to the entring in of Egypt: for he did most valiantly.

⁷ They gaue money also vnto the masons, and to the workemen, and meat and drinke, and oyle vnto them of Zidon and of Tyrus, to bring them cedar wood from Lebanon to the sea vnto Iapho, according to the graunt that they had of Cyrus King of Persia.

¹⁴ For if thou holdest thy peace at this time, comfort and deliuerance shall appeare to the Iewes out of another place, but thou and thy fathers house shall perish: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdome for such a time?

¹⁴ They came as a great breach of waters, and vnder this calamitie they come on heapes.

¹ Why doe the heathen rage, and the people murmure in vaine? ² The Kings of the earth band themselues, and the princes are assembled together against the Lord, and against his Christ. ³ Let vs breake their bands, and cast their cordes from vs. ⁴ But he that dwelleth in the heauen, shall laugh: the Lord shall haue them in derision. ⁵ Then shall hee speake vnto them in his wrath, and vexe them in his sore displeasure, saying, ⁶ Euen I haue set my King vpon Zion mine holy mountaine.

¹³ The Lord also thundred in the heauen, and the Highest gaue his voyce, haylestones and coales of fire. ¹⁴ Then hee sent out his arrowes and scattred them, and he increased lightnings and destroyed them. ¹⁵ And the chanels of waters were seene, and the foundations of the worlde were discouered at thy rebuking, O Lord, at the blasting of the breath of thy nostrels.

⁴⁴ As soone as they heare, they shall obey me: the strangers shall be in subiection to me.

⁴ One thing haue I desired of the Lord, that I will require, euen that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the dayes of my life, to beholde the beautie of the Lord, and to visite his Temple.

³ For they inherited not the lande by their owne sworde, neither did their owne arme saue them: but thy right hand, and thine arme and the light of thy countenance, because thou didest fauour them.

²⁰ I haue found Dauid my seruant: with mine holy oyle haue I anoynted him. ²¹ Therefore mine hande shall be established with him, and mine arme shall strengthen him. ²² The enemie shall not oppresse him, neither shall the wicked hurt him. ²³ But I will destroy his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. ²⁴ My trueth also and my mercie shall be with him, and in my Name shall his horne be exalted. ²⁵ I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the floods. ²⁶ He shall cry vnto mee, Thou art my Father, my God and the rocke of my saluation. ²⁷ Also I wil make him my first borne, higher then the Kings of the earth. ²⁸ My mercie will I keepe for him for euermore, and my couenant shall stande fast with him. ²⁹ His seede also will I make to endure for euer, and his throne as the dayes of heauen. ³⁰ But if his children forsake my Lawe, and walke not in my iudgements: ³¹ If they breake my statutes, and keepe not my commandements: ³² Then will I visite their transgression with the rod, and their iniquitie with strokes. ³³ Yet my louing kindnesse will I not take from him, neither will I falsifie my trueth. ³⁴ My couenant wil I not breake, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. ³⁵ I haue sworne once by mine holines, that I will not fayle Dauid, saying, ³⁶ His seede shall endure for euer, and his throne shalbe as the sunne before me. ³⁷ He shalbe established for euermore as the moone, and as a faythfull witnes in the heauen. Selah.

¹ A Psalme of David. Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth mine hands to fight, and my fingers to battell.

¹⁰ It is he that giueth deliuerance vnto Kings, and rescueth Dauid his seruant from the hurtfull sworde.

⁶ In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy wayes.

¹⁸ Let thy fountaine be blessed, and reioyce with the wife of thy youth. ¹⁹ Let her be as the louing hinde and pleasant roe: let her brests satisfie thee at all times, and delite in her loue continually.

²⁶ It is farre off, what may it be? and it is a profound deepenesse, who can finde it? ²⁷ I haue compassed about, both I and mine heart to knowe and to enquire and to search wisedome, and reason, and to knowe the wickednesse of follie, and the foolishnesse of madnesse, ²⁸ And I finde more bitter then death the woman whose heart is as nettes and snares, and her handes, as bands: he that is good before God, shalbe deliuered from her, but the sinner shall be taken by her. ²⁹ Beholde, sayth the Preacher, this haue I found, seeking one by one to finde the count: [ (Ecclesiastes 7:30) And yet my soule seeketh, but I finde it not: I haue found one man of a thousand: but a woman among them all haue I not founde. ] [ (Ecclesiastes 7:31) Onely loe, this haue I founde, that God hath made man righteous: but they haue sought many inuentions. ]

⁹ Reioyce with the wife whom thou hast loued all the dayes of the life of thy vanitie, which God hath giuen thee vnder the sunne all the dayes of thy vanitie: for this is thy portion in the life, and in thy trauaile wherein thou labourest vnder the sunne.

²⁵ Then I will turne mine hand vpon thee, and burne out thy drosse, till it be pure, and take away all thy tinne. ²⁶ And I will restore thy iudges as at the first, and thy counsellers as at the beginning: afterward shalt thou be called a citie of righteousnes, and a faithfull citie. ²⁷ Zion shall be redeemed in iudgement, and they that returne in her, in iustice.

⁴ The noyse of a multitude is in the mountaines, like a great people: a tumultuous voyce of the kingdomes of the nations gathered together: the Lord of hostes nombreth the hoste of the battell.

⁵ And it shalbe as when the haruest man gathereth the corne, and reapeth the eares with his arme, and he shall be as he that gathereth the eares in the valley of Rephaim.

²¹ For the Lord shall stand as in mount Perazim: hee shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his worke, his strage worke, and bring to passe his acte, his strange acte.

¹ Thus sayeth the Lord vnto Cyrus his anointed, whose right hand I haue holden to subdue nations before him: therefore will I weaken the loynes of Kings and open the doores before him, and the gates shall not be shut: ² I will goe before thee and make the crooked streight: I will breake the brasen doores, and burst the yron barres.

¹³ Wo vnto him that buildeth his house by vnrighteousnesse, and his chambers without equitie: he vseth his neighbour without wages, and giueth him not for his worke. ¹⁴ He saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers: so he will make him selfe large windowes, and feeling with cedar, and paint them with vermilion. ¹⁵ Shalt thou reigne, because thou closest thy selfe in cedar? did not thy father eate and drinke and prosper, when he executed iudgement and iustice?

³⁰ As for me, this secret is not shewed mee for any wisedome that I haue, more then any other liuing, but onely to shewe the King the interpretation, and that thou mightest knowe the thoughts of thine heart.

¹² I will surely gather thee wholy, O Iaakob: I will surely gather the remnant of Israel: I will put them together as the sheepe of Bozrah, euen as the flocke in the mids of their folde: the cities shall be full of brute of the men. ¹³ The breaker vp shall come vp before them: they shall breake out, and passe by the gate, and goe out by it, and their King shall goe before them, and the Lord shalbe vpon their heades. ¹⁴ Yet yee say, Wherein? Because the Lord hath beene witnesse betweene thee and the wife of thy youth, against whome thou hast transgressed: yet is shee thy companion, and the wife of thy couenant.

⁶ And Iesse begate Dauid the King. And Dauid the King begate Salomon of her that was the wife of Vrias.

⁴ And he answered and sayd vnto them, Haue ye not read, that hee which made them at the beginning, made them male and female, ⁵ And sayd, For this cause, shall a man leaue father and mother, and cleaue vnto his wife, and they which were two shalbe one flesh.

⁸ He sayd vnto them, Moses, because of the hardnesse of your heart, suffered you to put away your wiues: but from the beginning it was not so.

⁶ Assoone as he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spettle, and anointed the eyes of the blinde with the clay, ⁷ And sayd vnto him, Go wash in the poole of Siloam (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came againe seeing.

¹⁷ If ye know these things, blessed are ye, if ye doe them.

¹⁴ Ye are my friendes, if ye doe whatsoeuer I commaund you.

² And suddenly there came a sounde from heauen, as of a russhing and mightie winde, and it filled all the house where they sate.

¹² Wherefore my beloued, as ye haue alwayes obeyed me, not as in my presence only, but now much more in mine absence, so make an end of your owne saluation with feare and trembling. ¹³ For it is God which worketh in you, both the will and the deede, euen of his good pleasure.

¹⁵ And the seuenth Angell blewe the trumpet, and there were great voyces in heauen, saying, The kingdomes of this worlde are our Lordes, and his Christes, and he shall reigne for euermore. ¹⁶ Then the foure and twentie Elders, which sate before God on their seates, fell vpon their faces, and worshipped God, ¹⁷ Saying, We giue thee thankes, Lord God almightie, Which art, and Which wast, and Which art to come: for thou hast receiued thy great might, and hast obteined thy kingdome. ¹⁸ And the Gentiles were angrie, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they shoulde be iudged, and that thou shouldest giue reward vnto thy seruants the Prophets, and to the Saintes, and to them that feare thy Name, to small and great, and shouldest destroy them, which destroy the earth.
