³² And of the children of Issachar which were men that had vnderstanding of the times, to knowe what Israel ought to doe: the heades of them were two hundreth, and all their brethren were at their commandement.

¹⁴ Issachar shalbe a strong asse, couching downe betweene two burdens:

¹³ Then the King said to the wise men, that knew the times (for so was the Kings maner towards all that knew the law and the iudgement:

⁸ The wisdome of ye prudent is to vnderstand his way: but the foolishnes of the fooles is deceite.

⁵ A wise man is strong: for a man of vnderstanding encreaseth his strength.

¹⁹ Be not thou wicked ouermuch, neither be thou foolish: wherefore shouldest thou perish not in thy time?

¹⁸ Better is wisedome then weapons of warre: but one sinner destroyeth much good.

¹² And in that day did the Lord God of hosts call vnto weeping and mourning, and to baldnes and girding with sackecloth. ¹³ And beholde, ioy and gladnes, slaying oxen and killing sheepe, eating flesh, and drinking wine, eating and drinking: for to morowe we shall die. ¹⁴ And it was declared in ye eares of the Lord of hostes. Surely this iniquitie shall not be purged from you, til ye die, saith the Lord God of hostes.

⁶ And there shall be stabilitie of thy times, strength, saluation, wisdome and knowledge: for the feare of the Lord shalbe his treasure.

⁹ The Lordes voyce cryeth vnto the citie, and the man of wisedome shall see thy name: Heare the rodde, and who hath appoynted it.

³ And in the morning ye say, To day shall be a tempest: for the skie is red and lowring. O hypocrites, ye can discerne the face of the skie, and can ye not discerne the signes of the times?

⁵⁶ Hypocrites, ye can discerne the face of the earth, and of the skie: but why discerne ye not this time? ⁵⁷ Yea, and why iudge ye not of your selues what is right?

¹⁷ Wherefore, be ye not vnwise, but vnderstand what the will of the Lord is.
