⁶¹ But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

⁷ I will tell of the decree: the LORD said unto me, Thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee.

¹ For the Chief Musician, for Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. ² I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

⁹ I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.

¹² Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with judgment and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts shall perform this.

⁷ He was oppressed, yet he humbled himself and opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before her shearers is dumb; yea, he opened not his mouth.

¹⁷ and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

²⁹ And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

³ and said unto him, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another? ⁴ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Go your way and tell John the things which ye do hear and see: ⁵ the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good tidings preached to them.

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

⁶³ But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. ⁶⁴ Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

¹² And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. ¹³ Then saith Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? ¹⁴ And he gave him no answer, not even to one word: insomuch that the governor marveled greatly.

Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? ⁶² And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven. ⁶³ And the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What further need have we of witnesses?

² And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering saith unto him, Thou sayest.

⁴ And Pilate again asked him, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they accuse thee of. ⁵ But Jesus no more answered anything; insomuch that Pilate marveled.

⁶⁷ If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe: ⁶⁸ and if I ask [you], ye will not answer. ⁶⁹ But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God. ⁷⁰ And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am. ⁷¹ And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.

³⁴ And I have seen, and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art King of Israel. ⁵⁰ Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee underneath the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. ⁵¹ And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye shall see the heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

¹⁸ For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. ¹⁹ Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner. ²⁰ For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he shew him, that ye may marvel. ²¹ For as the Father raiseth the dead and quickeneth them, even so the Son also quickeneth whom he will. ²² For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son; ²³ that all may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which sent him. ²⁴ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life. ²⁵ Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.

²⁴ The Jews therefore came round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou hold us in suspense? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly.

³⁰ I and the Father are one. ³¹ The Jews took up stones again to stone him.

³⁶ say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am [the] Son of God?

³⁷ Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

⁹ and he entered into the palace again, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

³² Now the place of the scripture which he was reading was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before his shearer is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth:

¹¹ according to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

¹⁵ which in its own times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

²³ who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, threatened not; but committed [himself] to him that judgeth righteously:
