¹ This is the book of the generations of Adam. ²⁶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. ²⁷ And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

⁴ These are the generations of the heaven and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made earth and heaven.

⁹ These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, [and] perfect in his generations: Noah walked with God.

¹ Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem Ham and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.

¹ Adam, Seth, Enosh;

²⁹ Behold, this only have I found, that God made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

¹ Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth, or ever the evil days come, and the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

¹ The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

³⁶ the [son] of Cainan, the [son] of Arphaxad, the [son] of Shem, the [son] of Noah, the [son] of Lamech, ³⁷ the [son] of Methuselah, the [son] of Enoch, the [son] of Jared, the [son] of Mahalaleel, the [son] of Cainan, ³⁸ the [son] of Enos, the [son] of Seth, the [son] of Adam, the [son] of God.

⁷ For a man indeed ought not to have his head veiled, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled face reflecting as a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.

²⁴ and put on the new man, which after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

¹⁰ and have put on the new man, which is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him:

³ who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

⁹ Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

²⁷ And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

¹⁵ And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

²³ And the man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

¹⁵ And did he not make one, although he had the residue of the spirit? And wherefore one? He sought a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

⁴ And he answered and said, Have ye not read, that he which made [them] from the beginning made them male and female,

⁶ But from the beginning of the creation, Male and female made he them.

²⁶ and he made of one every nation of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, having determined [their] appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation;

²⁵ And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For, [said she], God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him.

⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ Behold, he putteth no trust in his holy ones; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight. ¹⁶ How much less one that is abominable and corrupt, a man that drinketh iniquity like water!

⁴ How then can man be just with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

² The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek after God. ³ They are all gone aside; they are together become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

⁵ Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also that which is to be born shall be called holy, the Son of God.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

¹² Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned:—

³⁹ All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one [flesh] of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.

³ among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:—

²⁸ And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

⁷ and Seth lived after he begat Enosh eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:

²⁶ and Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:

³⁰ And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

⁷ And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

¹² And Arpachshad lived five and thirty years, and begat Shelah:

¹ Adam, Seth, Enosh; ² Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared; ³ Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech;

³ Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb is [his] reward.

¹² When our sons shall be as plants grown up in their youth; and our daughters as corner stones hewn after the fashion of a palace;

¹⁹ in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

⁸ and all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.

¹¹ and all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years: and he died.

²⁰ to love the LORD thy God, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

¹⁴ For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God take away life, but deviseth means, that he that is banished be not an outcast from him.

²³ For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

⁷ None [of them] can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: ⁸ (For the redemption of their soul is costly, and must be let alone for ever:) ⁹ That he should still live alway, that he should not see corruption. ¹⁰ For he seeth that wise men die, the fool and the brutish together perish, and leave their wealth to others.

⁴⁸ What man is he that shall live and not see death, that shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah

¹⁰ The days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years; yet is their pride but labour and sorrow; for it is soon gone, and we fly away.

⁵ For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

⁸ Let thy garments be always white; and let not thy head lack ointment.

⁵ yea, they shall be afraid of [that which is] high, and terrors [shall be] in the way; and the almond tree shall blossom, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and the caper-berry shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

⁷ and the dust return to the earth as it was, and the spirit return unto God who gave it.

⁴ Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

¹² Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned:— ¹³ for until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. ¹⁴ Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam’s transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come.

²¹ For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. ²² For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

²⁷ And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this [cometh] judgment;

²⁶ And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

² Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared;

³⁷ the [son] of Methuselah, the [son] of Enoch, the [son] of Jared, the [son] of Mahalaleel, the [son] of Cainan,

¹⁷ And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

³ Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech;

¹⁴ And to these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones, ¹⁵ to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have ungodly wrought, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

²⁴ and Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

¹ And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

⁴⁰ And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father’s house:

¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph, and said, The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which hath fed me all my life long unto this day,

⁴ Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

¹² And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.

³³ Ye shall walk in all the way which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

⁴ Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

⁹ The LORD shall establish thee for an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee; if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

⁴ That the LORD may establish his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

³ Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

⁸ I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

¹¹ But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.

¹³ For thou hast delivered my soul from death: [hast thou] not [delivered] my feet from falling? that I may walk before God in the light of the living.

¹¹ Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

⁹ I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

¹ A Song of Ascents. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD, that walketh in his ways.

⁴ Draw me; we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will make mention of thy love more than of wine: rightly do they love thee.

⁹ Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.

³ Shall two walk together, except they have agreed?

⁵ For all the peoples will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.

⁸ He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

⁶ The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and uprightness, and did turn many away from iniquity.

⁶ And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

³¹ So the church throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being edified; and, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, was multiplied.

¹ There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.

¹⁷ Only, as the Lord hath distributed to each man, as God hath called each, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all the churches.

¹⁶ And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? for we are a temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

¹⁵ Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise;

¹⁰ to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

⁵ Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

¹² to the end that ye should walk worthily of God, who calleth you into his own kingdom and glory.

¹ Finally then, brethren, we beseech and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as ye received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, even as ye do walk,—that ye abound more and more.

⁵ By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God translated him: for before his translation he hath had witness borne to him that he had been well-pleasing unto God: ⁶ And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [unto him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.

⁷ but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

³⁰ And he returned unto his brethren, and said, The child is not; and I, whither shall I go?

³⁶ And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

¹ And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah by a whirlwind into heaven, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

¹¹ And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, [there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, which parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

¹⁵ Thus saith the LORD: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuseth to be comforted for her children, because they are not.

¹⁸ A voice was heard in Ramah, Weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; And she would not be comforted, because they are not.

⁴³ And he said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise.

¹⁸ And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methushael: and Methushael begat Lamech.

¹⁷ And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in toil shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; ¹⁸ thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; ¹⁹ in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

¹¹ And now cursed art thou from the ground, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand; ¹² when thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a wanderer shalt thou be in the earth.

⁸ But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. ⁹ These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, [and] perfect in his generations: Noah walked with God.

²³ And every living thing was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and creeping thing, and fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only was left, and they that were with him in the ark.

²⁴ And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his youngest son had done unto him.

⁹ For this is [as] the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

¹⁴ though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

²⁰ though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

³⁷ And as [were] the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

³⁶ the [son] of Cainan, the [son] of Arphaxad, the [son] of Shem, the [son] of Noah, the [son] of Lamech,

²⁶ And as it came to pass in the days of Noah, even so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. ²⁷ They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

⁷ By faith Noah, being warned [of God] concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

²⁰ which aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water:

⁵ and spared not the ancient world, but preserved Noah with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;

¹⁰ And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

¹³ In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

¹⁸ And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. ¹⁹ These three were the sons of Noah: and of these was the whole earth overspread.

²² And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. ²³ And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness. ²⁴ And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his youngest son had done unto him. ²⁵ And he said, Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. ²⁶ And he said, Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem; And let Canaan be his servant. ²⁷ God enlarge Japheth, And let him dwell in the tents of Shem; And let Canaan be his servant.

²¹ And unto Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, to him also were children born.

³² These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and of these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

⁴ Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. ⁵ The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. ⁶ And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Diphath, and Togarmah. ⁷ And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim. ⁸ The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. ⁹ And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raama, and Sabteca. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. ¹⁰ And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. ¹¹ And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, ¹² and Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whence came the Philistines), and Caphtorim. ¹³ And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth; ¹⁴ and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite; ¹⁵ and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite; ¹⁶ and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. ¹⁷ The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether., and Meshech. ¹⁸ And Arpachshad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber. ¹⁹ And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan. ²⁰ And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah; ²¹ and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah; ²² and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba; ²³ and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; All these were the sons of Joktan. ²⁴ Shem, Arpachshad, Shelah; ²⁵ Eber, Peleg, Reu; ²⁶ Serug, Nahor, Terah; ²⁷ Abram (the same is Abraham). ²⁸ The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.
