¹³ Wherefore take up the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

¹ Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth, or ever the evil days come, and the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

³ Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;

² But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:

¹³ And those on the rock [are] they which, when they have heard, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

³⁶ But watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

⁴ (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strong holds);

⁶ Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.

¹⁶ redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places]. ¹³ Wherefore take up the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, ¹⁵ and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ¹⁶ withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil [one]. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.

¹⁰ Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that [hour] which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

¹⁷ for the great day of their wrath is come; and who is able to stand?
