¹⁰ and they took knowledge of him, that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

³⁶ And amazement came upon all, and they spake together, one with another, saying, What is this word? for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

⁴³ And they were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which he did, he said unto his disciples,

²⁰ For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he shew him, that ye may marvel.

³ Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

¹⁸ The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight, ¹⁹ and asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see? ²⁰ His parents answered and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: ²¹ but how he now seeth, we know not; or who opened his eyes, we know not: ask him; he is of age; he shall speak for himself.

⁷ And they were all amazed and marveled, saying, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

¹² And they were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

² And a certain man that was lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

¹⁴ And seeing the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. ¹⁵ But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, ¹⁶ saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been wrought through them, is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

²¹ And they, when they had further threatened them, let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people; for all men glorified God for that which was done. ²² For the man was more than forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was wrought.
