² preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

⁹ I have published righteousness in the great congregation; lo, I will not refrain my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

¹ The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to them that are bound; ² to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; ³ to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

² Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised, ¹⁹ To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

⁴ And they, when they came to Jesus, besought him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that thou shouldest do this for him:

²³ And blessed is he, whosoever shall find none occasion of stumbling in me.

⁶⁰ But he said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but go thou and publish abroad the kingdom of God.

⁶ and Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. ⁷ There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. ⁸ For his disciples were gone away into the city to buy food. ⁹ The Samaritan woman therefore saith unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a Samaritan woman? (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) ¹⁰ Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

³² But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not. ³³ The disciples therefore said one to another, Hath any man brought him [aught] to eat? ³⁴ Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.

⁵ And when they were at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John as their attendant.

¹³ And on the sabbath day we went forth without the gate by a river side, where we supposed there was a place of prayer; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which were come together.

³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house. ³² And they spake the word of the Lord unto him, with all that were in his house. ³³ And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, immediately.

⁷ And upon the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul discoursed with them, intending to depart on the morrow; and prolonged his speech until midnight.

¹⁸ And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, after what manner I was with you all the time, ¹⁹ serving the Lord with all lowliness of mind, and with tears, and with trials which befell me by the plots of the Jews: ²⁰ how that I shrank not from declaring unto you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly, and from house to house, ²¹ testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ And when we entered into Rome, Paul was suffered to abide by himself with the soldier that guarded him.

³⁰ And he abode two whole years in his own hired dwelling, and received all that went in unto him, ³¹ preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, none forbidding him.

¹⁵ and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!

¹² rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer;

⁶ But let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

²⁵ whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you-ward, to fulfill the word of God,

²⁸ whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ; ²⁹ whereunto I labour also, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

¹¹ as ye know how we [dealt with] each one of you, as a father with his own children, exhorting you, and encouraging [you], and testifying, ¹² to the end that ye should walk worthily of God, who calleth you into his own kingdom and glory.

¹⁴ And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.

²⁰ despise not prophesyings;

¹³ Till I come, give heed to reading, to exhortation, to teaching.

¹⁵ Be diligent in these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy progress may be manifest unto all. ¹⁶ Take heed to thyself, and to thy teaching. Continue in these things; for in doing this thou shalt save both thyself and them that hear thee.

²⁰ Them that sin reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.

²¹ If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, meet for the master’s use, prepared unto every good work.

²⁵ in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth,

¹⁰ But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,

¹³ This testimony is true. For which cause reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

¹⁵ These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

²² But I exhort you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation: for I have written unto you in few words.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
